However, the deflection electrode 54 and the electrode plate 55 are integrated in the deflection electrode 54.
As a result, the fitting work to the position regulating member 53 becomes very difficult. Further, when the deflecting electrode 54 is engaged with the supporting means 51, the supporting means may move to damage the fluorescent body, which is a great defect in image quality. Further, the configuration in which the individual deflecting electrodes 54 are engaged with each other only increases the defects of the fluorescent body.

The distance from 61a is kept constant. In this configuration, the positioning structure of the individual electrode assembly 60 with respect to the phosphor is not disclosed. Further, when the electrode assemblies 60 are connected to each other on the upper and lower surfaces, there is a problem that a relative displacement with the floor plate 67 occurs.

Furthermore, for the holding means provided on the electron beam source side,
Due to the structure in which adjacent members are joined together, the distance between the deflection electrodes at the boundary of the unit is kept constant, and even if atmospheric pressure acts on the electrode members, the distance does not fluctuate, while it contacts the fluorescent surface. When the atmospheric pressure acts, the supporting means receives a large pressure and strongly adheres thereto. Therefore, there is no risk of relative displacement due to thermal expansion of the front plate, and there is no damage to the fluorescent body due to relative displacement.

Reference numeral 4 is a side wall, and 5 is a back plate, which constitutes an envelope. 6 is a deflection electrode unit. Plural plate-shaped deflection electrodes 7 are arranged perpendicularly to the front plate 1 at equal intervals. Reference numeral 8 is a reference block as a holding means, which is provided at both ends of the deflection electrode 7. Reference numeral 9 is a holding block as holding means, and 10 is a side plate that connects the reference block 8 and the holding block 9. Reference numeral 11 denotes a positioning plate, which is provided on both sides of the deflection electrode unit 6 on the front plate 1 side, and the projection 11a is fitted to the reference pin 3. The reference block 8 holds a predetermined number of deflection electrodes 7 and constitutes a unit. As shown in FIG. 2, a plurality of electrode units 6 are arranged side by side to cover the entire image area. 12 is a block connecting plate,
As shown in FIG. 3, the reference blocks 8 on the electron beam source side are fixed by spot welding so as to be coupled to each other. The joint plate is made of a material having a thermal expansion coefficient similar to that of the reference block. The connecting plate has a side end portion of the reference block 8,
Alternatively, it may be provided in the upper part. Further, the connecting plate may have another shape. Reference numerals 13, 14 and 15 are thin plate-like electrode plates having a large number of small holes for passing electron beams. The electrode plates 13, 14, 15 are also formed in a unit shape. FIG. 3 is a side view of an essential part of the electrode unit, and FIG. 4 is a sectional view of the electrode unit. FIG. 5 is another side view of the electrode unit. 17 is an insulating spacer, 18 is a back electrode, and 9 is a cathode. Reference numeral 21 is a spring which is fixed to the reference block and biases the deflection electrode 7 to one side. Reference numeral 22 is a needle-shaped screen as a supporting means, and is fixed to the front plate side surface of the deflection electrode 7 together with the supporting plate 23. One of the partitions 22 is in contact with the fluorescent body 2. The partitions 22 at both ends in the arrow A direction are slightly longer than the other partitions. Reference numeral 24 is a holding plate that supports the deflection electrode 7 at its end. Reference numeral 11b denotes a bent portion of the positioning plate, which holds the deflection electrodes 7 on the front plate side at equal intervals. In FIG. 1, the cathode 19, the back electrode 18, the back plate 5 and the like are not shown. The inside is evacuated, and the atmospheric pressure acting on the container is supported by the internal electrode group. Time, previously outside leave assembled electrode unit 6, the hole portion 11a of the positioning plate 11 to the reference pin 3 units in the container incorporating the electrode unit 6 in a container coated with fluorescent body in the above-described configuration
Insert while mating. When the inserting operation is completed, only the end portion of the partition 22 of the electrode unit 6 abuts on the fluorescent body 2. In this state, the electrode plates 13, 14, 15 and the insulating spacer 7 are sequentially placed. Further, the connecting plate 12 and the adjacent reference block 8
Weld to join. Further, the cathode 19, the back electrode 18, and the back plate 5 are set and sealed. When the inside is evacuated after sealing and the atmospheric pressure is applied to the internal electrode group, the partitions 22 all come into contact with the fluorescent body 2 and act to support the atmospheric pressure.
