Abstract

PURPOSE:To spread a sealing material over all the corners of a wire joint by winding a liquid absorbing material, containing a predetermined quantity of water swelling single liquid elastic sealant and cut into a required size, around a part where stripped wires are jointed and then winding a waterproof insulating film for predetermined number of turns. CONSTITUTION:A liquid absorbing material 11, e.g. paper or sponge, is cut into a required size and a stripped wire joint 4 is set thereon. A predetermined quantity of water swelling single liquid elastic sealant 12 having low viscosity is dripped and absorbed by the liquid absorbing material 11. The water absorbing sheet 11 is then wound around the wire joint 4 followed by winding of an electric insulating vinyl tape 13. Consequently, the sealant 12 oozes out from the water absorbing sheet 11 and spreads over all corners of the wire joint 4 thus facilitating the waterproofing.

However, the conventional waterproofing methods have the problems that the steps are complicated, the workability is poor, and the mass productivity is not achieved. That is, 1) In the first method, only a high-viscosity putty-like sealant can be used, and a pressure treatment is required to spread this sealant to the wire connection portion. 2) In the second method, a low viscosity sealant cannot be used. 3) In the third method, it is necessary to pass the electric wire through the vinyl tube before connecting the electric wire, which makes the work difficult.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention provides a method for waterproofing an electric wire connecting portion which solves the above-mentioned problems. It is a liquid-absorbing material obtained by quantitatively measuring a water-expandable one-liquid elastic sealant and cutting it into a required size. Wrap the liquid-absorbent material around the wire connecting part where the coating is peeled off and the wires are connected to each other, and then the waterproof insulating film cut to the required size is wound around the outside of the liquid-absorbent material. Sealing is the first invention, and a water-expandable one-liquid elastic sealant is quantitatively measured and dropped onto a half-cracked insulating tube cut into a required size to form a sealant part, and then the sealant part is formed. A second aspect of the present invention is to embed a wire connection part in which the coating is peeled off to connect the wires to each other, and then wind and seal a waterproof insulating film cut into a required size.

[Function] The water-swellable one-liquid elastic sealant has a pasty viscosity and adhesiveness, is cured after a certain period of time and has the same function as a rubber material, and absorbs moisture in the air, When it comes into contact with water, it has the property of expanding its volume several times. Therefore,
As described above, when the electric wire connection part is embedded in the water-swellable one-liquid elastic sealant and the waterproof insulating film is wrapped around the outside, if water or moisture enters the inside of the waterproof insulating film, water expansion will occur. The one-liquid elastic sealant expands, the gap between the electric wire connecting portion and the waterproof insulating film wound around the electric wire connecting portion is filled, and the electric wire connecting portion is effectively waterproofed. Therefore, as in the first invention, a water-swellable one-liquid elastic sealant is quantitatively included in a liquid-absorbent material that is cut to a required size, the coating is peeled off, and the above-mentioned suction is applied to a wire connecting portion where wires are connected to each other. When a liquid substance is wrapped around, a low-viscosity sealant can be used, so that the sealant can be spread to every corner of the wire connection portion. Further, when the waterproof insulating film is wound around the outside of the liquid-absorbent material, the sealing agent partially exudes and further spreads to a small void in the electric wire connecting portion. Further, when the expansive one-liquid elastic sealant is dropped on the half-divided insulating tube to form the sealant portion as in the second aspect of the invention, the low-viscosity sealant is not diffused, and the desired size is obtained. Since the sealing agent portion can be formed, when the electric wire connecting portion is embedded in the sealing agent portion, the sealing agent can be effectively spread only to the electric wire connecting portion to be waterproof.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the embodiments shown in the drawings. Example 1 FIG. 1 is a work process explanatory view of an example of a waterproofing method for an electric wire connecting portion according to the present invention. In this embodiment, the electric wire connecting portion shown in FIG. 3 used in the description of the prior art is waterproofed, and the process is as follows. That is, 1) The electric wire connecting portion 4 is placed on a water-absorbent sheet 11 such as paper or sponge, and a low-viscosity water-expandable one-liquid elastic sealant 12 is quantitatively dropped to the water-absorbent sheet 11 The elastic sealant 12 is absorbed. 2) Next, the water-absorbent sheet 11 is wound around the wire connecting portion 4, and the outer side thereof is wrapped with the vinyl tape 13 for electrical insulation. Then, the water-swellable one-liquid elastic sealant 12 exudes from the water-absorbent sheet 11 and spreads into the voids of the electric wire connecting portion 4. In this embodiment, since the water-swellable one-liquid elastic sealant 12 is absorbed by the water absorbent sheet 11, it does not leak outside the wound vinyl tape 13 for electrical insulation.
