Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare the subject film suitable for packaging textile products, esp. natural fibers such as wool yarns or silk because of its favorable flexibility over a long period of time, containing specified amounts of a plasticizer composed of glycerol and diglycerol at specified proportions. CONSTITUTION:This film contains >=8 (pref. 14-20) pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the PVA, of a plasticizer composed of (A) glycerol and (B) diglycerol at the weight ratio A/B of (20:80) to (80:20). It is prefereable that, in terms of the mechanical strength of the film, the PVA be 1000-3000 in polymerization degree and >=98mol% in saponification degree and 25-200mum in the thickness of the film.

Glycerin is generally used as a plasticizer for PVA (JP-A 47-28050,
Japanese Patent Publication No. 55-30019). However, glycerin has a good plasticizing effect, but the plasticizing effect is less durable. That is, in a PVA-based molded product containing glycerin, glycerin easily volatilizes from the molded product, and when the glycerin volatilizes, the flexibility of the molded product decreases. further,
When a molded product such as a PVA-containing film or sheet containing glycerin is left under high temperature and high humidity, glycerin tends to exude to the surface of the molded product (hereinafter referred to as sweating property). When the product is left under low temperature and low humidity, the molded product tends to cure. Further, when a PVA film containing glycerin is used to package a fiber product, there is a problem that the glycerin is transferred to the fiber product, the flexibility of the PVA film is lost in a short period of time, and the film is broken. As other plasticizers, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, trimethylolpropane, etc. are known, but these plasticizers have poor compatibility with PVA as compared with glycerin, and contain these plasticizers. The perspiration of the molded product is also higher than that of glycerin.

The Young's modulus at RH was 25 kg / mm 2 , and the performance was transparent and highly flexible. Then, the PVA film was used to measure a size of 2 by using a fusing bag making machine manufactured by Fujita Machine Co., Ltd.
A 0 cm × 30 cm bag was prepared. Using the bag obtained by the above method, wrap a 100% cotton shirt and
After being left in an environment of 0 ° C. and 80% RH for 30 days, the PVA film taken out was again subjected to liquid chromatography to determine the glycerin content and the diglycerin content in the PVA film. As a result, 100 parts by weight of PVA was mixed with glycerin. The content was 2.0 parts by weight and the diglycerin content was 8.0 parts by weight. The haze is 1.1.

Example 1 PVA45 having a degree of polymerization of 1750 and a degree of saponification of 99.9 mol%
Parts by weight, 50 parts by weight of water, 1.2 parts by weight of glycerin and 3.8 parts by weight of diglycerin are used,
A PVA film roll having a film thickness of 40 μm was produced by an extrusion dry film forming method. Regarding the produced PVA film, the glycerin content and the diglycerin content in the PVA film were determined by a liquid chromatography method, and as a result, the glycerin content per 100 parts by weight of PVA was 2.
4 parts by weight and the diglycerin content was 8.2 parts by weight, and the mixing ratio of glycerin and diglycerin was glycerin / diglycerin = 21.2 / 78.8. The haze of the obtained PVA film was 1.1%, 20 ° C., 65%
%, 20 ° C., the Young's modulus at 65% RH 30kg / m m
It was 2 , excellent in transparency and flexibility, and the bag did not burst even if repeatedly dropped 10 times from a height of 1 m.

Comparative Example 1 By the same method as in Example 1, 45 parts by weight of PVA having a polymerization degree of 1750 and a saponification degree of 99.9 mol%, 50 parts by weight of water,
Using a pellet consisting of 4.8 parts by weight of glycerin and 0.2 parts by weight of diglycerin, by an extrusion dry film-forming method,
A PVA film roll having a film thickness of 40 μm was produced. About the produced PVA film, the glycerin content and the diglycerin content in the PVA film were determined by a liquid chromatography method. As a result, the glycerin content was 10.0 parts by weight and the diglycerin content was 0.4 part by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of PVA. And the blending ratio of glycerin and diglycerin is glycerin / diglycerin = 96.2 /
It was 3.8. The resulting PVA film had a haze of 1.0% and a Young's modulus of 23 kg at 20 ° C. and 65% RH.
/ Mm 2 , which was transparent and showed a highly flexible performance. Next, using the PVA film, a bag having a size of 20 cm × 30 cm was prepared using a fusing bag making machine manufactured by Fujita Machine Co., Ltd. Using the bag obtained by the above method, 100% cotton
Of the PVA film that was taken out after packaging the shirt of No. 3 and leaving it in an environment of 30 ° C. and 80% RH for 30 days, and again obtaining the glycerin content and the diglycerin content in the PVA film by the liquid chromatography method. The glycerin content was 4.5 parts by weight and the diglycerin content was 0.4 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of PVA. The haze is 1.5%. 20 ° C, 65% RH
Had a Young's modulus of 98 kg / mm 2 and was a hard film with loss of transparency and flexibility. When dropped from a height of 1 m, the bag burst at the first time.
