PURPOSE:To exactly determine the position (latitude/longitude) of the portable equipment for digital car/portable telephone when registering the position of the mobile equipment. CONSTITUTION:The latitude/longitude of a mobile equipment 1 is measured by a portable (on-vehicle) GPS receiver 5 and registered on the position memory of the mobile equipment 1. This latitude/longitude information is transmitted to a radio base station 2 together with a conventional position registering request message and registered through a mobile communication switchboard 3 onto a home location register 4. A dedicated line is connected to the mobile communication switchboard 3 so as to extract the information registered on the home location register 4 and to utilize it for various kinds of service.
