Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent water which invades the space between a cable conductor and a sheath from invading a connecting part by forming a cable conductor compressing part and a sheath compressing part and moreover a projected part for water shielding to seal them air-tightly. CONSTITUTION:On a compression terminal 10 for a cable conductor, a conductor compressing part 11 of a hole shape to be connected with a conductor 3A of a cable is formed and in the extended part of it, a sheath compressing part 12 to compress the peeled end part of the sheath 3B is formed. A circular projected part 13 for water shielding which is slightly expanded inward is formed in the open part of the compressing part 12. The other end of the terminal 10 is molded into a flat-shape as a fuse connecting part 14. At the time the terminal 10 is compressively connected with the conductor 3A by hydraulic press, the compressing parts 11, 12 are simultaneously compressed in the direction shown as an arrow 16 and the projected part 13 is firmly stuck to the external circumference of the periphery of the peeled end of the sheath. Consequently, the water which invades the gap between the sheath 3B and the conductor 3A is confined in the inside of the compressing parts 11, 12, so that corrosion of such as low pressure branching apparatus, etc., is prevented beforehand.

The cable connecting portion 6 as described above is specifically constructed as follows. FIG. 3 shows a cross-sectional view of the main part at both ends of the lead-in line. As shown in the drawing, the lead-in wire 3 has a structure in which the cable conductor 3A is covered with a sheath 3B. The cable connecting portion 6 is protected by a waterproof cover 6A made of insulating rubber or the like, and a connecting terminal 6B is compression-connected to the cable conductor 3A. However,
Conventionally, there has been a problem in the waterproof property of the lead-in wire having such a structure.

That is, one end of such a lead-in wire 3 is exposed to the outside as shown in FIG. 2, and the connection with the overhead distribution line 1 may lose its waterproofness for some reason. In this case, in the rising portion of the lead-in wire 3 shown in FIG. 3, the cable conductor 3A and the sheath 3B are indicated by the arrow 7.
Rainwater may infiltrate into the gap between and. This water travels between the cable conductor 3A of the lead-in wire 3 and the sheath 3B and reaches the cable connection portion 6. Then, as shown in the figure, the arrow 8 is drawn from the gap between the cable conductor 3A and the sheath 3B.
As shown in FIG. 3, water may overflow and adhere to fuses provided inside the cable connecting portion 6 and other electric components such as the low-voltage branching device 5. In this case, corrosion may occur in the metal parts provided in the cable connection part 6 and the low-voltage branching device 5, which may cause a problem in power distribution. This is a problem common not only to the lead-in wire 3 as described above but also to many connection portions of this type of cable.

This terminal is provided with a conductor compressing portion, a sheath compressing portion, and a water stop projection, and the conductor compressing portion compresses the cable conductor to make its electrical connection. Further, at the same time that the sheath compressing portion is compressed, the water stop projection is brought into close contact with the outer periphery of the sheath near the peeling end. By the action of the water stop projection, the conductor compression portion and the sheath compression portion are sealed from the outside, and even if water enters between the cable conductor and the sheath, it does not flow out to the connection portion.

The present invention is not limited to the above embodiments. In the above embodiments, the compression terminal for connecting to the lead-in wire has been described as an example, but the present invention is applied to all the compression terminals adopted for the connecting portion or the like that must prevent the intrusion of water from the outside. can do. In addition, the shape and the number of the water stop projections 13 provided in the opening of the sheath compression portion 12 may be freely changed.
There is no problem even if the watertightness is increased by widening the width of the sheath or by providing two or more water stop projections on the inner peripheral surface of the sheath compression portion 12. Further, the fuse connecting portion 14 is not always necessary, and it may be replaced with, for example, a tulip contact or other electric connecting components.
Further, by providing the above-mentioned cable conductor compression terminals at both ends of the cable, it is possible to prevent water from entering the inside of the cable and further improve the reliability of the power distribution equipment and the like.

The above-described compression terminal for a cable conductor of the present invention includes a conductor compression portion for accommodating the tip of the cable conductor and compressing and gripping the cable conductor, and a cable sheath integrally connected to the conductor compression portion without a gap. Since the sheath compression portion surrounding the peeling end portion and the outer periphery of the sheath peeling end portion are closely attached to each other so that the conductor compression portion and the sheath compression portion are sealed from the outside, a water stopper projection is provided. Water entering from the gap can be stopped by this terminal portion, and the water can be prevented from entering the cable connection portion and the like. As a result, the reliability of the cable connection portion is increased, and safe power distribution or the like can be performed.
