Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an incense stick improved in a clear and bright visual color without reducing the volatilization ratio of the active components or its effect. CONSTITUTION:This incense stick is composed of a combustion base, a sizing agent, active components, a pigment, aluminum hydroxide and others. The content of aluminum hydroxide is >=2.5wt.%. A specifical example is an incense stick prepared from 13.0wt.% wood powder, 33.8wt.% pyrethrum-extraction lees, 13.0wt.% tea powder, 20.0wt.% powder of wheat-gluten bread, 20.0wt.% aluminum hydroxide and 0.2wt.% malachite green by a known kneading method. This exemplified incense stick has a visual color of 2.5G hue, brightness of 5 and chroma of 6 (respectively based on standard color JISZ8721). It is improved in clearness and brightness in comparison with brightness of 3 and chroma of 4 in the case in which aluminum hydroxide is not contained.
