2. Description of the Related Art In a liquid crystal display element used in a display device such as an image device such as a liquid crystal television, a word processor, and an information device represented by a personal computer, display pixels are integrated at high density. It is driven by a matrix electrode composed of a large number of scan electrodes and signal electrodes. In order to apply a drive signal from the outside of the liquid crystal display element to these many matrix electrodes, the power supply terminals provided in the peripheral portion of the liquid crystal display element and the substrate on which the driving element is mounted are connected by a conductive rubber connector or a film connector. The method was common.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, the conventional configuration as described above has the following problems. In the conventional example shown in FIGS. 2 and 4, since the bus circuit board 5 is arranged in the peripheral portion of the power supply terminal portion 2 of the liquid crystal display element 1, a wide space is required around the display portion, and a personal computer or a word processor is required. There was an obstacle to the miniaturization of equipment such as. Further, in the conventional example of FIG. 3, the device can be made compact, but since the output terminal portion 4a of the film carrier 4 is bent, the lead strength of the bent portion is weakened and the connection reliability is poor.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to achieve the above object, the present invention mounts a liquid crystal display element having a power feeding terminal portion and a driving element, and connects an output terminal portion to the power feeding terminal portion and an input terminal portion. And a bus circuit board provided on the back surface of the liquid crystal display element, the film carrier is arranged on a power supply terminal portion, and the input terminal portion is bent and connected to the bus circuit substrate. It is a thing.

In FIGS. 1A and 1B, reference numeral 7 is a liquid crystal display element, which is provided with a power feeding terminal portion 8 which is a connecting portion including a power feeding terminal. The film carrier 10 has the driving element 9 mounted at substantially the center thereof. The output terminal portion 10a of the film carrier 10 is connected to the power feeding terminal portion 8 to connect the film carrier 10 to the power feeding terminal portion 8
Place it on top. However, the input terminal part of the film carrier 10
10b is not arranged on the power supply terminal portion 8 but protrudes to the peripheral portion of the liquid crystal display element 7. The input terminal portion 10b is connected to the bus circuit board 11, the input terminal portion 10b is bent into a U-shape, and when the bus circuit board 11 is placed on the back surface of the liquid crystal display element 7, the first It looks like Figure b.

According to the configuration of the liquid crystal display device of the present embodiment as described above,
To solve the problem that the space around the display part is wide and hinders the miniaturization of the device, by arranging the bus circuit board under the liquid crystal display element 7, it is possible to realize space saving. It becomes possible to make it compact.
Further, regarding the problem that the lead strength is reduced by bending the output terminal portion 10a of the film carrier 10, when the bending of the output terminal portion 10a side is changed to the bending of the input terminal portion 10b side, the lead wire width of the input terminal portion 10b is changed. Since it is wide, it is strong against bending and the strength of the lead wire can be increased. Furthermore, since the film carrier 10 and the bus circuit board 11 are held by the liquid crystal display element 7, the mechanical stress on the lead portion can be reduced, and the connection reliability can be greatly improved. Further, since the thin bus circuit board 11 is used, it is possible to perform thin mounting in which the thickness of the liquid crystal display element 7 hardly changes even when the driving element is mounted.
