A squeeze film damper, wherein oil is interposed in a gap between a vibrating surface and a surface supporting the vibrating surface, and the oil generates a damping force according to an increasing / decreasing speed of the gap. A squeeze film damper having an elastic film which covers a gap between two surfaces and is fixed by inserting an end portion into a groove provided in a member forming each of the two surfaces.
