(Prior art) Conventionally, applying patterns and characters to paper and paperboard involves changing the density of fibers in the papermaking process, forming a so-called watermark pattern, and applying chemicals that make transparent with a printing machine or the like. Then, it is permeated into the pulp fiber layer to form a pattern or a letter, and further, the pattern or the letter is printed on the surface of paper or paper board by using a printing ink. More recently, coated papers (including coated paperboards) used as printing papers and wrapping papers have been colored by adding coloring pigments to the coating layer to provide a glossy and beautiful coated paper. In addition, it has become necessary to add patterns and letters to the coating layer. However, mechanical patterns, letters, etc., such as irregularities, are formed in the coating layer of coated paper. At present, it is only performed to add a pattern or a character by printing or printing with a known printing ink.

(Means for Solving the Problem) The present invention has been made to meet such a demand. The coated paper used in the present invention comprises a substrate, such as paper or paperboard, on the surface of which a coating layer containing a pigment as a main component is provided, and the coating layer is kaolinite, sericite or pyrophyllite. About 70 to 80% by weight of at least one pigment selected from clay, titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, barium sulfate, and other inorganic pigments is contained, and the inorganic pigment refracts and reflects light, A white and opaque coating layer is formed, and if necessary, a coloring pigment or dye is mixed in the coating material to form a colored coating layer. still. An organic pigment such as polyethylene may be blended, and the adhesive for the pigment may be selected from casein, starch, thermoplastic resin, synthetic rubber-based latex, etc. 1
More than one adhesive is used. The coated layer of this coated paper, that is, the substance penetrating into the adhesive is applied to the surface of the coated layer in a pattern or in a letter form so that the substance permeates and is retained in the coated layer. The problem is solved by changing the reflectance or changing the light transmittance of an adhesive or the like to develop a pattern. It penetrates into this coating layer to change the light refractive index and reflectance of the pigment, or changes the light transmittance of the adhesive, etc., and after dispersion penetrates to form a clear pattern without bleeding. As a result of various studies on substances that do not impair the gloss, particularly good results were obtained for fats and oils, and it was found that other surfactants, water-soluble or solvent-soluble resins could be used, and the present invention was completed. It is a thing. Among the oils and fats, as vegetable oil, one or several kinds of mixed oil selected from soybean oil, rapeseed oil, sesame oil, castor oil, etc., boiled oil such as soybean oil modified by adding oxides, salts, metal soaps, etc. , And the oil varnish obtained by thickening linseed oil, soybean oil, cutting oil, etc. by heat treatment gave good results. As the mineral oil, a petroleum-based lubricating oil having a high boiling point can be used. or,
As the surfactant, polyoxyethylene nonylphenyl ether, polyoxyethylene lauryl ether sulfate, sorbitan laurate, diethylene glycol and the like are preferable, and as the resin, water, oil, a rosin soluble in any solvent, Ester gum, phenol, alkyd, melamine, vinyl, polyamide, etc. are good, and others,
Solvents such as nitrified cotton, polyvinyl alcohol, starch and cyclized rubber can also be used.
