(Prior Art and Problems) An example of this type of device is a facsimile device. In such an apparatus, a conveyance roller or the like is provided as a means for feeding a sheet-like material as a document on a predetermined conveyance path, and an image sensor for reading a document is arranged on the conveyance path. The image sensor is formed by arranging a photoelectric conversion element on the substrate in the width direction of the document, and receives reflected light from the document and converts it into an electric signal. In such an apparatus, the document must be sent to the image sensor one by one. However, when there are a plurality of originals, they are usually put in the apparatus at one time, and the apparatus receives the originals by the pre-stage conveying means and sends the originals one by one to the image sensor. In that case, conventionally, two types of pre-conveying means were provided: a pre-conveying roller for receiving the plurality of originals and a separating roller for taking out only one of the pre-conveying rollers and sending it to the image sensor. Therefore, there is a problem that the number of parts such as these accessory parts for driving increases, and a large space is required accordingly.

The pre-stage conveying means 5 arranged at the downstream position of the document receiving plate 4 in the conveying direction, as shown in detail in FIG.
It is composed of a pre-stage roller 51 for conveyance, which is located below the conveyance path P and whose outer periphery is in contact with the conveyance path P, and a connecting member 52 which is in contact with the pre-stage roller 51 from above. The contact member 52 is rotatably supported at one end around a pin 52A serving as a fulcrum and is supported downward by a spring 52C in the vicinity of the other end. The support member 52B is cantilevered at the one end to the support member 52B. It has a first member 52D of a spring material held and a second member 52E such as a rubber plate. The first member 52D and the second member 52E are in elastic contact with each other at a position relatively close to the preceding roller 51 when a document or the like is not conveyed. In the contact state, a substantially wedge-shaped space is formed on the receiving side of a document or the like, and the front end of the document or the like is easily received. The relationship between the friction coefficients of both members is set so that the frictional force with the roller 51 is greater in the second member 52E than in the first member 52D. The contact member 52 is supported by the pin 52A in the elongated hole 53A of the fixed support member 53 so as to be vertically movable within a certain range.

Next, the lid body 2 can be opened in the direction of the arrow Q in FIG. 1 as a double lever crank mechanism by the levers 21 and 22 rotatable between the support substrate 3 and the front and rear positions in the carrying direction. It is like this. In the case of the present embodiment, at that time, the lever 21 on the right side is longer than the lever 22 on the left side.
Will open wider on the right side. Further, one of the pin couplings of the lid body 2 and the two levers 21 and 22 can be released at the set opening position as required.
For example, one pin or the like can be removed at the opening position, so that the lid body 2 can be largely opened upward like a door by the other lever.
Further, a cam (not shown) is provided at, for example, a lower fulcrum of the lever 21 at a part of the both lever crank mechanisms, and when the crank mechanism operates in the opening direction, the cam causes the base plate 101 of the image sensor means 7 to spring 110. A predetermined gap can be provided between the substrate 101 and the rear roller 6 by pressing downward against the pressure.

First, when a plurality of originals are inserted from the left along the original receiving plate 4, the front ends of the plurality of originals S1, S2, S3 are sandwiched between the first member 52D of the contact member 52 and the front roller 51. Then, the front edge is conveyed to the second member 52E. Since the second member 52E and the pre-stage roller 51 form a wedge-shaped space, the originals S1, S2, S3 are sandwiched with their front edges sequentially displaced as shown in FIG. Due to the frictional force, S1, S2, and S3 are reliably conveyed one by one in order. At that time, since the second member 52E has a larger frictional force between the front roller 51 and the first member 52D, the first member 52D suppresses the second and subsequent originals S2 and S3. This is overcome, and only the first document S1 is reliably conveyed.

Thus, the original S1 which has been fed on the transport path P only once passes next on the image sensor means 10 by the rear roller 6. The light beam B emitted from the light source 104 is
As shown in FIG. 3, the original S1 is irradiated through the hole 101A of the substrate 101, is reflected by the original, and is read by the photoelectric conversion element 102C as an electric signal. At that time, since the reference end face 106 of the substrate of the image sensor means is in contact with the reference end face 82 of the carry-out guide plate 8 which supports the latter stage roller 6 by the force of the spring 110, the latter stage roller initially set with high accuracy. 6 and the parallelism of the photoelectric conversion element portion in the direction perpendicular to the paper surface and the positional relationship thereof are stable without breaking. Further, the contact pressure at the photoelectric conversion element portion of the rear roller 6 may be a slight manufacturing error or the like because the spring 110 constitutes a plurality of elastic pressure portions that are substantially independent in the direction perpendicular to the paper surface. This is sufficiently compensated to maintain a uniform contact state in the above direction. Thus, reading with the photoelectric conversion element is performed with high accuracy and stable sensitivity. Further, at the time of reading with the photoelectric conversion element, from the side end surfaces of the transparent plate 102A and the protective transparent thin plate 102B in the related art, ambient light was incident as ambient light to cause instability in reading, but this embodiment Then, since the light blocking member 105 covers the side end surface, the disturbance light is not entered at all and is extremely stable.

Thus, the document S1 is carried out of the apparatus while being guided on the carry-out guide plate 8 as the reading progresses. At that time, dust, paper dust, etc. adhering to the original may be accumulated in the vicinity of the photoelectric conversion element 102C, which may adversely affect the reading accuracy.
It was in the conventional device. In the present embodiment, since the light shielding member 105 is inclined toward the conveyance direction to form a space that gradually expands between the document conveyance path P and the document conveyance path, the dust, paper dust, and the like are removed by the image sensor means. Therefore, the predetermined reading accuracy is maintained without accumulating at least near the photoelectric conversion element 102C.

Next, a description will be given of how to deal with the case where there is a so-called paper jam when the document is conveyed. In the conventional device, one of the lids is pivoted largely to open it like a door, and this is done. In this case, one end is wide open, but the vicinity of the center of rotation is not opened so much. Therefore, when a paper jam occurs near the center of rotation, a sufficient space for pulling out the original cannot be provided. It was In the apparatus of this embodiment, the lid body 2 is driven by the double lever crank mechanism having the levers 21 and 22.
In order to open with a predetermined interval over the entire area in the direction,
It is possible to easily pull out the original no matter where the paper jam occurs. Moreover, as the lever rotates, the image sensor means 10 is pressed downward by the cam (not shown) and rotates in the R direction to form a sufficient gap between the image sensor means 10 and the rear roller 6, so that it is easy to deal with paper jam. . At that time, if the lever 21 on the right side is longer than the lever 22 on the left side, the opening degree on the right side is larger and more convenient. Further, in this embodiment, the link connection between the one lever and the lid body 2 can be released at a constant opening position if necessary, and at that time, like a conventional lid body, it is opened like a door. Can deal with problems other than paper jams.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the present invention, the conveying means for receiving a plurality of originals and conveying them one by one, which is positioned at the upper level of the reading means, has one rotating means and the elastic contact with two points. The first member on the receiving side located upstream in the transport direction is set to have a smaller frictional force than the second member for separation. It is possible to receive a plurality of sheets by the first member on one rotating means and to reliably send out one by one at the second member portion. Further, it is possible to reduce the cost, reduce the cost, shorten the distance between the first member and the second member, reduce the size of the device, and reduce the number of failure points. Further, by making the fulcrum of the contact member retractable, even if a large number of originals are put in at one time, the frictional force between the first and second members with the rollers does not become excessive, so that two originals It will not be sent all at once, contributing to avoiding troubles.
