(Background of the Invention) In a vehicle such as a two- or three-wheeled scooter, an engine and a rear wheel are arranged below a driving seat, and the engine and the rear wheel are covered with a rear cover. In this case, the hot air of the engine is likely to be trapped inside the rear cover, and it is desired to improve the cooling performance inside the rear cover. In this type of vehicle, conventionally, there is a vehicle in which an opening is provided in the left and right side surfaces or a rear surface of a rear cover below a driving seat, and hot air in the rear cover is discharged from the opening. However, in this case, there is a problem that the exhaust force of the hot air from the opening tends to be insufficient and the inside of the rear cover is hard to cool sufficiently. In particular, immediately after the vehicle stopped, there was a problem that the temperature inside the rear cover was likely to rise excessively due to the residual heat of the engine.

(Object of the invention) The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and increases the suction force of hot air in the rear cover during traveling, and enhances the effect of discharging the hot air even immediately after the vehicle is stopped, thereby improving the rear cover. An object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle cooling device that can improve the cooling performance of the inside.

(Structure of the Invention) According to the present invention, an object of the present invention is to provide a scooter type vehicle including an engine and rear wheels arranged below a driving seat, and a rear cover that covers the engine and the rear wheels.
A flange portion protruding to the outside of the vehicle body extends obliquely rearward from the rear side edge of the footrest along the side surface of the rear cover and the rear lower edge of the driving seat to a position higher than the seating surface of the driving seat, The cooling device for a scooter type vehicle is characterized in that an outlet for cooling air in the rear cover is opened in the vicinity of a flange portion along the lower rear edge of the operating seat.

That is, the flange portion is projected to the outside of the vehicle body, and the traveling wind is guided from the rear portion of the footrest to the tilted rearward, that is, the rear portion of the rear of the driver's seat by this flange portion, and the inside of the rear cover is provided from the discharge port provided substantially along the passage of the traveling wind. The air is discharged. At this time, since the flange portion extends to a position higher than the seating surface of the driver's seat, the traveling wind guided to the flange portion is smoothly guided to the rear by the negative pressure generated behind the driver's seat and behind the driver's back. Therefore, the hot air inside the rear cover is also smoothly discharged from the discharge port. In addition, at the time of stopping,
Hot air in the rear cover is discharged to the outside through the discharge port located at this high position.

The upper portion of the rear cover 58 extends above the seating surface of the seat portion 50 integrally with the rear surface of the seat 48 behind the driver seat 48, and the extending portion 68 is smoothly continuous to the back rest portion 52. There is. Therefore, a space is not formed between the extending portion 68 and the rear surface of the driver when viewed from the side. As shown in FIG. 2, the extending portion 68 is formed in a mountain shape when viewed from the rear, and a plurality of discharge ports 70 are opened so as to be directed rearward along the edge of the mountain shape. As a result, most of these discharge ports 70 are located sufficiently higher than the seating surface of the seat 50.
In addition, the rear seat 58 and the backrest 52 have a driving seat 48
As shown in FIG. 3, a flange portion 72 protruding laterally is formed along the lower rear edge of the rear portion. That is, as is apparent from FIGS. 1 and 4, the flange portion 72 extends obliquely upward and rearward from both sides of the rear portion of the footrest 54 on both side surfaces of the rear cover 58, and extends along the rear lower edge of the driving seat 48. Reach a position higher than the seat 50. A part of the discharge port 70 opens near the flange 72 along the lower rear edge of the operation seat 48. Of the discharge ports 70, those close to the flange 72 are opened in the recesses behind the flange 72.

The vehicle body shape of the embodiment is made based on an elliptical shape as shown in FIGS. That is, when viewed from the side (fifth

A curve connecting the lower edges of the footrests 54 is almost along the ellipse A which rises backward. Therefore, the flange 72 substantially follows the shape of the ellipse A, and the traveling wind is smoothly guided obliquely upward and rearward along the ellipse A, that is, the flange 72. The side edge of the leg shield 60, the side of the handle cover 40, the upper side of the backrest 52, the rear edge of the rear cover 58, the rear edge of the tail light assembly 62, the rear fender 64.

According to this embodiment, during traveling, a large amount of traveling wind enters from the cooling air inlet 74, further passes through the inside of the footrest 54 and enters the inside of the rear cover 58. The heat of the engine 20 and the like is carried upward and rearward by this cooling air. Since a large traveling negative pressure is generated behind the driver during traveling and no space is formed between the rear surface of the driver and the extension portion 68, the rearward opening of the driver is directed. The hot air in the rear cover 58 is strongly sucked out from the exhaust port 70. Therefore, the flow rate of cooling air inside the rear cover 58 is increased, and the cooling performance inside the rear cover 58 is improved.

Further, since the position of the exhaust port 70 is sufficiently higher than the positions of the inflow port 74 and the engine 20, the cooling air heated in the rear cover 58 and having a smaller specific gravity rapidly rises to the exhaust port 70.
Emitted from. That is, the same effect as the chimney can be obtained. For this reason, the ventilation inside the rear cover 58 is naturally and strongly performed not only while the vehicle is running but also when the vehicle is stopped.
The inside of the 58 can be prevented from heating.

In this embodiment, the flange portion 72 is formed in the upper front portion of the rear cover 58 and the lower portion of the backrest portion 52 (Fig. 3), and a part of the exhaust port 70 is opened behind the flange portion 72.
Exhaust effect is further improved by the traveling negative pressure generated behind 72. Also, the vicinity of the extension 68 is located near the lower part of the backrest 52, and since it is formed with a narrow width, traveling wind easily flows behind this behind the driver, and the flow velocity accelerates near this. To be done. Therefore, a larger suction effect can be obtained at the exhaust port 70.

Although the extending portion 68 is formed integrally with the rear cover 58 in this embodiment, the present invention also includes the extending portion 68 which is separate from the rear cover. Further, the present invention also includes the one in which the backrest portion 52 is omitted.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the present invention, the flange portion projecting to the outside of the vehicle body is made to extend from the rear side edge of the footrest to the side surface of the rear cover and the lower rear edge of the driving seat to a position higher than the seating surface of the driving seat. Since it extends obliquely upward and rearward, the traveling wind smoothly flows upward and rearward of the operation seat along the flange portion. Since the exhaust port is formed near the flange portion along the lower rear edge of the operation seat, the hot air in the rear cover is smoothly exhausted from the exhaust port by the traveling wind flowing along the flange portion. In particular, during traveling, a negative pressure is generated in the rear part of the driver's seat and the back surface of the driver, and this negative pressure further promotes exhaust from the exhaust port. Further, since the exhaust port is high, the high-temperature cooling air inside the rear cover can be exhausted by the same effect as the chimney. As a result, the cooling effect inside the rear cover can be enhanced not only when the vehicle is running but also when the vehicle is stopped.
