Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent production of whiskers or burrs at the cut surface and prolong the lifetime of a battery by allowing an upper cutter sinking to cut an electrode plate arranged between the upper cutter and a lower cutter, and hindering the upper cutter in upward stroke thereafter from touching the cut surface of the electrode plate and the lower cutter. CONSTITUTION:An upper cutter 1 is set in the vertical direction, and an electrode plate 2 is placed on a table 4. The upper cutter 1 is sunk while its inside 1a is pressed to the outside 3a of a lower cutter 3 using a cylinder 5, and thereby the electrode plate 2 is cut. When the upper cutter 1 has reached the undermost position, the upper cutter 1 is rotated by the cylinder 5 to run ahead of the lower cutter 3 so that the inside 1a of the upper cutter 1 does not contact the cut surface of the electrode plate 2 or the outside 3a of the lower cutter 3, and in this condition, the upper cutter 1 and cylinder 5 are elevated and returned to the original position. Accordingly no whiskers or burrs are generated of a nickel mat at the cut surface of the electrode plate 2. and troubles such as short-circuiting, etc., are suppressed after assembly of a battery. Thus the battery is equipped with a long lifetime.

2. Description of the Related Art FIG. 6 is an explanatory view showing a conventional method, in which 1 is an upper blade, 2 is an electrode plate, 3 is a lower blade, and 4 is a mounting base for the electrode plate 2. In the conventional method, as shown in FIG. 6, the electrode plate 2 is placed on the platform 4 integrated with the lower blade 3, the upper blade 1 is lowered, and the upper blade 1 and the lower blade 3 cross each other. Cut the electrode plate 2,
After that, the upper blade 1 was raised along the outer side surface 3a of the lower blade 3 and returned to the original state before cutting. Then, the cut electrode plate 2 was taken out from the mounting table 4 and sent to the next step.

In the method described in the prior art, when the upper blade 1 rises along the outer surface 3a of the lower blade 3, the upper blade 1 comes into contact with the cut surface of the electrode plate 2. For example, in the case of a paste-type electrode plate obtained by applying a paste-like active material to a nickel mat and drying it, nickel mustaches, burrs, etc. are generated on the cut surface, and when assembled into a battery, the beards, burrs, etc. cause a positive electrode plate. There was a short circuit with the negative electrode plate.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention arranges a polar plate 2 between an upper blade 1 and a lower blade 3,
The upper blade 1 descends to cut the electrode plate 2, and then the upper blade 1 ascends without coming into contact with the lower blade 3 and the cutting surface 2a of the electrode plate 2. .

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. 1 to 4 are explanatory views showing a cutting process according to the present invention, and 1 to 4 correspond to those described in the conventional art. 5 is a cylinder for rotating the upper blade 1. Figure 5
Is a schematic front view of the cutting device on which the electrode plate is placed in the step of FIG. 1, 1a is a guide blade, and when the upper blade 1 is lowered,
The entire upper blade 1 is in contact with the lower blade 3 and positioned so as to reliably cut the electrode plate.

First, as shown in FIG. 1, the upper blade 1 is set in the vertical direction, and the electrode plate 2 is placed on the mounting table 4. At this time, the cut portion of the electrode plate 2 is positioned above the outer surface 3a of the lower blade 3 attached to one end of the mounting table 4. Next, as shown in FIG. 2, the inner surface 1 of the upper blade 1 is moved by the cylinder 5.
The upper blade 1 is lowered while pressing a on the outer surface 3a of the lower blade 3 to cut the electrode plate 2.

Next, as shown in FIG. 3, when the upper blade 1 reaches the lowest position, the upper blade 1 is rotated by the cylinder 5 to be released to the front of the lower blade 3 (to the left in FIG. 3). The inner side surface 1a of 1 does not contact the cutting surface 2a of the electrode plate 2 and the outer side surface 3a of the lower blade 3. In this state, the upper blade 1 and the cylinder 5 are raised as shown in FIG. 4, and are returned to the positions of the upper blade 1 and the cylinder 5 in the process of FIG.
