【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 平板及び波板が重ねられてロール状に巻
回されたハニカム体と、該ハニカム体を収納する外筒
と、該ハニカム体と該外筒の間に介在する中間筒と、か
らなる排気ガス浄化触媒用メタル担体であって、 該ハニカム体は少なくとも排気ガスの上流側に位置する
上流側端面近傍で該平板と該波板とが接合された上流側
端面近傍接合部をもち、 該中間筒は排気ガスの上流側に位置する上流側端部が該
外筒と接合されるとともに下流側端部が該ハニカム体と
接合され、 該中間筒の軸方向の長さは該ハニカム体の軸方向の長さ
より短く、該中間筒の該上流側端部における該外筒との
接合部は、該ハニカム体の該上流側端面近傍接合部より
下流側に位置していることを特徴とする排気ガス浄化触
媒用メタル担体。
