されることにより各部で静電気が発生する。かかる静電
気の量が2〜3KVを越えるような場合には、近づく作業
者に電撃を与えたり、シート面に粉末状のゴミや紙粉な
どが付着し、そのまま後工程の版面やブランケットに持
ち込まれ、印刷汚れ、白抜けなどトラブルの原因とな
る。これらのトラブルを防止するべく、通常はシートが
通過する適当な個所で、シートにコロナ放電処理する方
法、アースした金属箔或いは針金などをシート面近くに
設ける方法などにより、静電気除去が行なわれる。とこ
ろが、抄紙機或いは印刷機などのように、シートが最終
のリールパートで巻き取られてゆくような構成の場合に
は、前述の如き場所及び除電方法でシートの静電気を除
去させて、シートが巻取に巻かれる際に、強いテンショ
ンがかかった状態で上下のシートが擦り合されるため、
結局巻取の表面には又も許容レベルを遥かに越える静電
気が蓄積される。従って、この巻取表面に発生する静電
気を除去するための装置の設置が望ましいのは当然であ
るが、巻取の外径が時間とともに増大するという状況下
にあって、それに対応して除電しうる装置の設置は実際
には難しく巻取表面に許容レベル以上の静電気の存在を

(2)にフィードバックさせ、駆動部(2)の駆動によ
って放電除去部材(5)と巻取表面(1)との距離が常
にほぼ一定に保持しうるように構成されており、且つ除
電装置(8)は移動可能であることを特徴とする除電装

案の除電装置(8)を適用する場合に、放電除去部材
(5)の先端部と巻取表面(1)の間を除電するのに効
果が顕著に発揮しうる距離を保つべく、入力部(11)から
その設定値を調節部(12)に入力する。巻取(7)の外径
が増大し、放電除去部材(5)の先端部と巻取表面
(1)の間の距離は徐々に減少するが、調節部(12)は距
離センサー(6)からの距離信号によりこの減少分をとら
え、駆動部(2)を駆動して放電除去部材(5)をそれ
に対応するだけ後退させる。従って、放電除去部材
(5)と巻取表面(1)の間の距離を、除電するのに効
果がある好ましい距離に常に保つことができるものであ
る。なお、放電除去部材(5)と巻取表面(1)の間の
距離としては、約0〜50mmに設定するのが好ましく、
約5〜30mmに設定するのが特に好ましい。また、放電
除去部材及び距離センサーは巻取表面とは非接触状態で
