However, in small offices and ordinary households,
One telephone line is used both as a facsimile machine and a telephone for communication. In this case, if the facsimile device is set to the automatic reception mode, a person who makes a call simply trying to make a call only hears the response sound of the facsimile device even after making a call, and the predetermined time elapses as described above. There was a problem that I could not make a call because the line was cut off.

However, in this type of device, the telephone line is switched to the telephone side at the same time when the telephone call is started. That is, when the handset of the telephone is picked up, the telephone goes off-hook, and the telephone line is switched in a state where a closed loop cannot be formed between the telephone line and the telephone. Therefore, it is necessary to additionally provide means for holding the telephone line in the closed loop state from the start of the telephone call until the person on the receiving side picks up the handset in response to the call.

First, in the standby state, the control circuit (1)
Whether or not there is an incoming call is constantly monitored in step (S1), and if there is an incoming call, it is determined in step (S2) whether it is the automatic reception mode or the manual mode. If it is set to the manual mode now, the control circuit (1) controls the line switching circuit (7) to switch the telephone (8) to the telephone line (L). The bell of 8) rings and notifies the incoming call. If you answer the call and pick up the handset, you can talk to the caller. Control circuit when the call ends and the handset goes on hook (1)
Returns to the standby state from step (S15). However, if the caller informs the facsimile device that he / she wants to send the call, the control circuit (1) that detects the reception key signal controls the line switching circuit (7) by operating the reception key of the keyboard (6). After the facsimile machine is switched from the telephone set (8) to the telephone line (L), a predetermined communication procedure is performed to record the received data. Manual reception can be performed in this manner.

On the other hand, when the facsimile apparatus is set to the automatic reception mode when there is an incoming call, the control circuit (1) proceeds to step (S3) and produces a response sound (CED signal).
To the telephone line (L) and inform the caller. Therefore, if the caller who hears this response sound is trying to send a document by the facsimile apparatus, the caller operates the send key to start sending, and a predetermined facsimile signal is sent. The facsimile apparatus that received the call checks whether or not the facsimile signal has been transmitted in the step (S4) after transmitting the response sound. If the facsimile signal is transmitted as described above, the facsimile signal is transmitted. Upon detection, the flow advances to step (S5) to enter the automatic reception state and record the reception.

However, if the caller simply calls for a call, no facsimile signal is transmitted, and therefore it is determined in step (S7) whether 15 seconds have elapsed. In this case, since the facsimile signal is not transmitted even after 15 seconds have passed, the control circuit (1) proceeds to step (S8) to drive the calling signal generating circuit (9), and the speaker (10).
At the same time, the caller is notified of the telephone call, and a call signal is sent to the telephone line (L) to notify the caller that the call is being made. Then, when the person on the receiving side who notices the telephone call picks up the handset and operates a predetermined button on the keyboard (6), the control circuit (1) controls the line switching circuit (7) to set the telephone (8) to the telephone line ( L) allows you to talk with the caller. However, if the called party does not respond to the telephone call within 35 seconds, the control circuit (1) stops the call signal in step (S11), disconnects the telephone line, and returns to the standby state. .
Thus, even if a call is made and a response sound is heard from the facsimile machine, a call is made after waiting 15 seconds and a telephone call can be made.

Next, when the sender tries to perform facsimile transmission, he or she may not be able to set the original properly after hearing the CED signal from the called side, or it takes time to select the transmission mode, etc., and is sent after 15 seconds have passed. When the button is operated, the facsimile machine on the called side is making a telephone call, but the facsimile signal is detected in step (S4) during that time, so when the facsimile signal is transmitted, the process proceeds to step (S5). In the above description, the time lapse is monitored and a telephone call is made. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, as shown in the flowchart of FIG. 3, DIS or NSF sent after the CED signal is sent. It is also possible to count the number of times and make a telephone call when the number of times of sending reaches a preset number. At this time, it is preferable that the number of times is set by the keyboard (6) and the number of times can be changed to two times or three times according to the use state.

According to the present invention, after answering an incoming call in the automatic receiving mode, the person on the receiving side picks up the handset of the telephone in response to the telephone call, and subsequently operates the operating means (telephone button). For the first time, the telephone line is switched to the telephone side. That is, since the telephone is switched off-hook and the closed loop with the telephone line can be held on the telephone side, the telephone line is switched to the telephone side, so that a separate structure for holding the closed loop is not required, and the circuit is not necessary. Can be simplified.
