Further, when the FPC is automatically connected, the robot has to judge whether or not the FPC cable is completely inserted until the connector is abutted, but the robot should make such a judgment. If so, the robot must be made highly functional, and it is practically difficult for the robot to make this judgment in terms of cost, and as a result, automatic connection of the FPC cable could not be performed.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION According to the present invention, when the reinforcing plate provided on the connection end side of the FPC cable is accommodated and held integrally with the FPC cable, the contact is formed by the FPC cable.
In a connector for FPC connection in which a cable is pressure-welded to connect the both, a reinforcing plate is formed with a guide protrusion and an engagement protrusion protruding from predetermined positions on both end faces, respectively. The insulator has a guide portion formed with a guide groove for guiding and accommodating the guide protrusion formed on the reinforcing plate from the upper side to a lower portion, and the engagement protrusion when the FPC cable is connected. A lock member for locking the reinforcing plate having the engaging hole formed therein and a contact urged toward the exposed conductor portion are provided at positions corresponding to the exposed conductor portion of the FPC cable to which the reinforcing plate is attached. It is characterized by setting.

According to the present invention, the guide protrusions are formed at both ends of the reinforcing plate attached to the connecting end of the FPC cable, and the guide protrusions are inserted from above into the guide grooves of the guide formed in the insulator. And move the FPC cable. At this time, the engaging protrusion causes the lock member to
C. While descending while expanding in the cable width direction, the conductor protruding portion of the FPC cable is in pressure contact with the corresponding contact on the insulator, and when the FPC cable is pressing the contact, the engaging protrusion is the engagement of the lock member. Fitted in the dowel, the connector holds the FPC cable in engagement. Then, in this state, the exposed conductor portion of the FPC cable is in pressure contact with the contact.

As described above, the FPC cable is mounted on the connector so as to be mounted from above the connector, and the FPC cable is attached.
The exposed conductor of the FPC cable comes into contact with the contact when the guide protrusion and the engagement protrusion of the reinforcing plate provided on the connection end side of the cable correspond to the guide portion and the engagement hole of the connector, respectively. Therefore, the relative positional relationship between the FPC cable and the connector is properly determined only by inserting the guide protrusion into the guide groove, and the reinforcing plate is connected to the connector while maintaining the relative positional relationship. The conductor exposed portion of the FPC cable is pressed into contact with the contact simply by pushing in the direction. Therefore, the contact position between the FPC cable and the contact is not displaced, and the robot can automatically connect. Moreover, FP
Since the C cable is sandwiched between the reinforcing plate and the contact, the connection is highly reliable.

Further, since the contact is press-fitted from the printed circuit board mounting surface side of the insulator and exposed to the FPC cable mounting surface side, the suction nozzle of the suction nozzle when automatically mounting the connector on the printed circuit board is formed. A sufficient suction surface can be secured.

In the connector 3 for connecting the FPC cable 1, notched grooves 31 extending in the short side direction are formed in rows in the insulator 30 at a predetermined interval and arrangement. As can be seen from FIGS. 1, 2, and 3, the contact 33 is press-fitted into the cutout groove 31 from the back surface side of the insulator 30. The contact 33 is provided so that the conductor exposed portion 33 a projects from the upper surface of the insulator 30. The contact 33 is formed in a meandering shape in order to impart springiness, and the soldering terminal portion 3
Two protrusions 33c and 33d are press-fitted upward from the bottom surface side of the insulator 30 on the 3b side.
The reason why the two protrusions 33c and 33d are used as the press-fitting portions in this manner is to ensure the retention of the contacts 33 and prevent the contacts 33 from falling when the FPC cable 1 is connected.

Guide portions 35 are formed upright at both corners on the rear side of the insulator 30 (on the side where the soldering portion 33b of the contact 33 is located). Guide grooves 35a are formed in the guide portion 35 so as to face each other toward the inside. The width dimension of the guide groove 35a is set so that the guide protrusion 21 formed on the reinforcing plate 2 can be inserted therein.

As shown in FIG. 1, the FPC cable 1 is positioned right above the connector 3 so that the reinforcing plate 2 is positioned on the upper surface side. That is, at this time, the exposed conductor portion of the FPC cable 1 faces the contact 33.
When the reinforcing plate 2 is moved downward, the guide protrusion 21 is fitted into the guide groove 35a of the guide portion 35 of the connector 3. When it is further lowered in this state, the engaging protrusions 23 of the reinforcing plate 2 are fitted into the engaging holes 37a while pressing the lock members 37 separately. When the engagement protrusion 23 is fitted in the engagement hole 37a of the lock member 37, the FPC cable 1 is pressed by the reinforcing plate 2 as shown in FIG. The exposed conductor of the cable 1 is connected to the contact 33 in a pressed contact state. At this time, the contact 33 is urged toward the FPC cable 1 side while flexing, so that the contact for connection is not insufficient.

According to the above-mentioned embodiment, the guide groove 35a of the guide portion 35 is described to extend in the vertical direction, but the present invention is not limited to this. That is, FPC
Formed diagonally toward the cable 1 extension direction side,
It is also possible to connect the FPC cable 1 by descending it obliquely. Further, the guide groove 35a may be formed in a tapered shape so that even if the position of the FPC cable 1 is slightly displaced, this displacement can be absorbed. In this way, finally, the engagement protrusion 23 fits into the engagement hole 37a of the lock member 37, and in this state, it may be connected to the FPC cable 1 as shown in FIG. Is.

As described above, according to the present invention, the FPC
The cable is provided with a guide protrusion, and the other connector is provided with a guide portion for guiding the guide protrusion.
By lowering the cable from above the connector and inserting the guide protrusion into the guide groove of the guide, it is guided to the connecting position, and when the FPC cable is in the connecting position, the engaging protrusion of the reinforcing plate is raised. The portion fits into the engagement hole of the lock member of the connector, and the FPC cable is connected to the connector. As a result, it is possible to securely connect the FPC cable to the connector with one touch only by moving the FPC cable downward.

Further, since the contact of the connector is press-fitted into the insulator from the side where the connector is mounted on the printed board, the suction surface of the nozzle for automatic mounting can be secured on the upper surface of the insulator (the surface facing the FPC cable). This enables automatic mounting of connectors.
