ジタルデータ記録用のディスク装置等として具現され得
る磁気記録再生装置に関する。

再生用デッキとが別個に設けられているのが普通であ
る。しかし、記録用デッキと再生用デッキとが分離して
いると、記録した画像等を即時に再生し不都合があれば
ただちに再記録したいとの欲求を満足させ得ない。同様
のことがディジタルデータ記録の場合にもいえる。この
点をある程度改善したものとして、記録ヘッドと再生用
ヘッドとを一体化した記録再生兼用の録再ヘッドを用い
ると共に、記録再生回路を組込んだ磁気記録再生装置が
開発され実用に供されている。この磁気記録再生装置に
よれば、ディジタルデータについては記録後における即
時再生および再記録が可能となるが、消去ヘッドが組込
まれていないため画像情報については再度の記録は行な
えない。上記装置に消去ヘッドが組込まれていない主た
る理由は、ディジタルデータ記録装置の場合には、いわ
ゆるオーバライトが可能なため消去ヘッドの必要性がな
いこと、また小型電子カメラなどではすべての部品の小
型化、コンパクト化が要求され、部品設置空間が極めて
制限されたもとなっているため、比較的大きな設置空間
を要する消去ヘッドはスペース的に組込み困難であるこ
と、等である。なお記録媒体として直径2インチ程度の
磁気ディスクを用いる装置において、消去ヘッドを録再
ヘッドと共に設けた場合、両ヘッドとも良好なヘッドタ
ッチが得られるようにヘッド位置を設定することは極め
て困難である。特に記録波長が0.5μmオーダあるいは
それ以下の高記録密度の記録を行なうときには、各ヘッ
ドのヘッドタッツチの良否に起因するスペーシングロス
を最小にする必要があるが、前記したごとく各ヘッドの
ヘッドタッチを良好なものとなし難いことから高記録密
度の記録はむつかしい。さらに画像記録の場合には2ト
ラックを用いたフレーム記録モードがあるが、この場合
には録再ヘッド2個のほかに消去ヘッド2個を必要とす
るので、合計4個のヘッドを1台のデッキの限られたス
ペース内に設置しなければならない。したがってこの場
合は前述した困難性が一層顕著になる。このように消去
ヘッドを組込むことには種々の困難があるため従来は画
像情報の消去は別設の消去装置により一括消去するよう
にしているのが実状である。したがって前記再生後ただ
ちに再記録したいとの欲求は未だ満たされていない。
