添えられたシール部材6とを有し、ゴム状弾性材を被覆
された円筒部2をハウジング7に取り付けられてシール
部材6をシャフト8の周面に密封摺動させ、密封対象流
体の圧力が高くない間には、シール部材6の弾性変形に
よってシャフト8の偏心に順応し、流体の圧力が上昇し

する相対位置が円周方向に沿って不均一になって密封機
能の低下を惹起する。

の目形状を呈し、補強環の円筒部の内径寸法と略同等の
外径寸法を備えた押え板を非接着状態でバックアップシ
ートに添え、ゴム状弾性材料をもって成形されたシール
部材を、補強環の円筒部の内周面及び押え板の側面に接
着させるとともに、バックアップシートに非接着状態で
添えた構成となすものである。

を備えていることにより、ゴム状弾性材料によるシール
部材の成形工程中に、補強環の円筒部に嵌合されたバッ
クアップシート用素材が、円筒部に嵌合された押え板に
押圧されて補強環に対する相対位置及び相対姿勢を安定
した状態に保たれるので、従来の技術によるオイルシー
ルにおいて避けられなかったシール部材の内周部に対す
るバックアップシートの内周縁の相対位置の狂いによる
密封機能の低下が完全に抑止される。
