Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce decorative paper constituted so as to be capable of inexpensively producing a high-grade decorative panel having hardness or abrasion resistance adaptable to a horizontal surface in an extremely efficient manner. CONSTITUTION:An electron curable coating solution with viscosity of several-ten several cps based on an electron curable resin having a polar group such as a hydroxyl group or a carboxyl group is applied to the surface of paper to which printing is applied by aqueous ink or colored paper and, further, electron curable coating solution with viscosity of several ten-several hundred cps based on an electron curable resin is applied to the coated surface of the paper and both layers of the electron curable coating solutions are cured by the irradiation with electron beam.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a method for producing a decorative paper used for a decorative board used for furniture, housing equipment, etc., and particularly, a high-quality decorative board having a high surface hardness and excellent durability, can be manufactured efficiently at low cost. It provides a way to do it.

2. Description of the Related Art Decorative paper used for horizontal surfaces of conventional furniture and household appliances is printed on a highly permeable base paper such as titanium paper, and then thermosetting resin such as melamine resin or diallyl phthalate resin. The resin-impregnated paper made by impregnation is placed on a base material such as phenol core paper or particle board, and heated and compressed through a mirror plate to manufacture. According to this method, a decorative plate having surface hardness and abrasion resistance required for a horizontal surface can be obtained, but on the other hand, it is inevitable that the decorative plate is expensive due to poor production efficiency.

That is, in the step of impregnating the paper with the electron beam curable resin by applying from the surface, when the application and the electron beam irradiation are carried out within a short time in the same step, the water ink has high polarity and the resin penetrates. Is impeded, and the electron beam curable resin is cured before it is impregnated into the paper and impregnated. Therefore, the original purpose of strengthening paper is not achieved.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In order to solve the above problems, the present invention is to cure an electron beam having a polar group such as a hydroxyl group or a carboxyl group on the surface of a paper printed or colored with an aqueous ink. After applying an electron beam curable coating liquid having a viscosity of several to several tens of cps containing a mold resin as a main component, the electron beam curable resin having a viscosity of several tens to several hundred cps as a main component is further applied to the surface thereof. It is intended to provide a method for producing a decorative paper, which comprises applying an electron beam curable coating liquid having a viscosity and irradiating an electron beam to cure the electron beam curable coating liquid.

The electron beam curable resin having a polar group such as a hydroxyl group or a carboxyl group should have an acrylic group or a methacrylic group at the molecular end and a polar group such as a hydroxyl group or a carboxyl group at the molecular end. A monofunctional acrylate or methacrylate having a low viscosity is preferable.

The viscosity of the electron beam curing type coating liquid applied first is several to several tens of cps. If the viscosity is higher than this,
It cannot penetrate the decorative paper. Further, the composition ratio of the electron beam curable resin having a polar group such as a hydroxyl group or a carboxyl group as a main component is 20% or more, preferably 50% or more. If it is less than this range, the polarity of the coating liquid is lowered and the permeability to the water-based ink is lowered.

The viscosity of the electron beam curable coating liquid to be applied next is several tens to several hundreds cps. If the viscosity is less than this, the electron beam curable coating liquid penetrates into the decorative paper, and the amount of electron beam curable resin remaining on the surface decreases, so that the surface finish of the decorative paper deteriorates. Further, if the viscosity is higher than this, it becomes difficult to coat at high speed. The electron beam curable resin as the main component may have an acrylic group or a methacrylic group at the molecular end, and may be polyester acrylate, urethane acrylate, epoxy acrylate, polyester methacrylate, urethane methacrylate, epoxy methacrylate, or the like.

It is preferable that the accelerating voltage of the electron beam emitted from the electron beam irradiating device is 150 to 200 kV and the irradiation amount is about 3 to 5 Mrad. Usually, this treatment is possible at a line speed of 50 to 150 m / min, and therefore the production efficiency is extremely high.
