In the use of the main branch connector of the present invention, first, the outer layer insulating material of the power feeding main cable is peeled off, and a plurality of single wires with the inner layer insulating material are aligned with each other. Then, the inner layer insulating material is cut off. Then, open the top lid of the housing, put each single wire of the feeding main line with the insulating coating remaining only on the side surface against the above-mentioned "8" -shaped opening edge of the elastic contactor with a U-shaped cross section, and push it back by its elasticity. The single wires are pushed down by appropriate means such as a driver to the extent that they do not come apart. As a result, the inner layer insulation remaining on the side of each single wire
(F) rises upward and the bare core wire (E) makes “line contact” with the contact on both sides (see FIG. 7). After that, when the upper lid of the housing is closed, the core wire is held in a state of being pinched by the contactor by the electric wire pressing body vertically provided from the upper lid.

Next, each single wire end portion of the branch electric wire cable in which the insulating coating is peeled off to make it bare is to resist the elastic force of the connection spring and the spring and the bottom plate, or the lower plate of the electric conductor located on the upper surface thereof. By inserting between the two, it is possible to make an electrical connection to the current-carrying body with one touch via the spring. The second tip portion of the connection spring bites into the bare single wire of the branch electric wire, so that the connected state is firmly maintained.

In use, the upper lid (13) is opened, and the inner layer coating (F) on the upper and lower surfaces is striped and partially cut, that is, the length covering the two contacts (22), (22) is cut off. A single wire of the feeder line of the chisel is pushed into the contactor (22) from above. As a result, as the residual coating is “twisted” upward and “rolled up”, the core wire (E) of the single wire “line contacts” the contactor on both sides, as shown in FIG. Even if the load on the cables (B1) and (B2) is about 20 amps, power can be supplied without fear of heat generation at the contact portion. After that, when the upper lid (13) is closed, the pressing body (16) further pushes down the power feeding main line slightly, and the state in which the main line is lifted thereafter is prevented.

As is apparent from the above description, according to the present invention, a current carrying member is provided inside the housing, a contactor is brought into contact with the upper surface thereof, and a connection spring is brought into contact with the lower surface thereof. With this structure, it is not necessary to cut the power supply main line, and the inner layer coating of each of the constituent single wires is in a "line contact" state with the connector by stripping and removing only the upper and lower surface parts in a striped manner.
In other words, it can be connected to withstand a high load, and the branch wire can be connected to the trunk line and fixed to the connector at the same time simply by inserting the bare end strongly, so that many lighting fixtures in buildings etc. It becomes possible to carry out the wiring work to etc. with high efficiency.

Moreover, since no crossover wiring is required, even if any one of the lighting fixtures has a poor contact, it does not affect other lighting fixtures. Further, the core diameters of the feeder main line and each branch electric wire have a considerably large allowable range due to the spring elasticity of the contactor and the contact spring, so that there are advantages that the number of types of connectors to be prepared can be reduced.
