Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of the slack in a magnetic tape and to improve the reliability of the device by providing a releasing rod to be moved by movement of a cassette and a releasing rod moving means. CONSTITUTION:At the time of loading the cassette 6, a supply reel 1a and a take-up reel 1b are locked, and when phases are not matched between reels and reel bases respectively, the reel bases are rotated so that the reels 1a and 1b are engaged with the reel bases 5a and 5b respectively. Then, a lever 18 is turned around a pin 21 by the movement of the cassette 6, and the releasing rod 17 is moved, so that a reel brake operating plate 4 is moved to release a reel brake mechanism. Afterward, loading the cassette 6 into a prescribed position is completed.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a magnetic recording / reproducing apparatus such as a video tape recorder having a cassette mounting mechanism.

2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, it has been required to improve the reliability of a magnetic recording / reproducing apparatus such as a video tape recorder when the cassette is mounted. As a conventional technique for preventing the slack of the tape at the time of mounting the cassette, there is an example of releasing the brake of the reel base at the time of mounting (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 03-35458).

A conventional magnetic recording / reproducing apparatus will be described below. 4A and 4B are enlarged views of the reel brake mechanism of the cassette. FIG. 4A shows the reel brake mechanism when the reel is locked, and FIG. 4B shows the reel brake mechanism when the reel is not locked. The reel brake mechanism of this figure is installed so that the reel does not rotate in the direction in which the magnetic tape wound around the reel sags.

In FIG. 4, 1a and 1b are a supply reel and a take-up reel on which a magnetic tape is wound, respectively.
Reference numeral 3 is a brake arm, and 4 is a brake arm operating plate. The reel brake mechanism locks and unlocks the supply reel and the take-up reel by rotating the brake arm 3 by the movement of the reel brake operating plate 4 in the direction perpendicular to the paper surface.

However, in the conventional magnetic recording / reproducing apparatus, the supply reel 1a and the take-up reel 1b are locked when the supply reel 1a and the take-up reel 1b are engaged with the reel stands 5a and 5b, respectively. In order to achieve the above object, a magnetic recording / reproducing apparatus of the present invention comprises a reel base on which a reel is mounted, a release rod for releasing a reel brake mechanism, and a movement of a cassette. By this, when the cassette is mounted, the reel brake is released after the reel is engaged with the reel stand, so that the slack of the magnetic tape can be prevented, and thus the reliability can be greatly improved.

A magnetic recording / reproducing apparatus having a cassette mounting mechanism for mounting the cassette to a cassette including a reel around which a magnetic tape is wound and a reel brake mechanism for fixing the reel. The cassette mounting mechanism includes a reel base on which the reel is mounted, a release rod that releases the reel brake mechanism, and a release rod movement that moves the release rod by transmitting movement of the cassette to the release rod. The releasing rod moving means releases the reel brake mechanism by transmitting the movement of the cassette to the releasing rod after the reel is engaged with the reel base when the cassette is mounted.
