2. Description of the Related Art A conventional shielded wire connector is disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 4-259770. As shown in FIG. 8, when the tip of a female housing 30 having a substantially tubular shape is fitted into a male housing 31 having a tubular shape and an enlarged tip portion as shown in FIG. The terminals 37 and 38 connected to the extension lines 35 and 36, which are exposed at the ends of the wire 32 and are separated from each other, are connected to each other to electrically connect the connectors. Has been obtained. On the other hand, the shield line is connected to the shield line 3
The connecting fitting 34 is caulked and fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the braided wire (hereinafter referred to as a shield material) 33 which is exposed by peeling off the insulating coating 2 and the engaging portion 34 a provided on the connecting fitting 34.
Is engaged with an engaged portion (not shown) of the shield material terminals 44, 44 inserted into the respective housings 30, 31 in the same manner as the terminals 37, 38, so that the shield material terminals 44, 44 at the time of connector coupling. It is achieved by connecting each other.

However, when assembling this connector, for example, when assembling a female connector, if the lengths of the extension lines 35, 35 are short, the terminals 37, 37 are inserted into the cavities 40, 40 in the housing 30 separately. Difficult to make
Therefore, the connector is assembled by inserting the terminals 37, 37 connected to the extension lines 35, 35 into the cavities 40, 40 at the same time.
It is attached to the housing by engaging with the elastic stoppers 42, 42 in the shape of a protrusion in 40.

Due to the assembling process,
If the insertion positions of the female terminals 37, 37 into the cavities 40, 40 are mistaken and the terminal positions of the input / output signals are opposite to those of the mating connector, and it becomes necessary to reassemble the connectors, the respective terminals 37, 37 For the same reason as when inserting 2
The book must be removed from the housing 30 at the same time. However, this kind of repair work is required for each cavity 4
While keeping the two elastic locking portions 42, 42 in 0, 40 elastically deformed at the same time, at the same time, the connection fitting 34
Since it has to be carried out in a state where the engagement between the shield material terminal 44 and the shield material terminal 44 has been released, a great deal of time and labor is involved, resulting in a large increase in the number of working steps. It should be noted that it is possible to set the separated length of each extension end to a sufficient length so that each terminal can be inserted into and removed from the cavity separately, but in the case of such a configuration, In addition to the measures for reducing the shield effect, a large cavity is required for accommodating the exposed extension line, and the connector is increased in size. The present invention has been made based on the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a shielded wire connector which can easily correct erroneous insertion of terminals and is excellent in connector assembly workability.

The insulating housing having the pair of terminals housed in the cavity is surrounded by the outer cover and is held in a reversible manner. Therefore, when the terminals are erroneously inserted into the cavity, the housing is erroneously inserted. By reversing by 180 degrees and re-storing it in the outer cover, the work of extracting the terminal from the housing is omitted, the polar position is changed, and erroneous insertion can be substantially eliminated. Further, by carrying out such change work, it is possible to prevent a large increase in the number of work steps.

Next, the upper cover 12 is put on the lower cover 13 so that the projections 15 and 15 of the lower cover 13 are engaged with the locking holes 22 and 22 of the upper cover 12, and the receiving portion 12a of the upper cover 12 is covered. The shield wire 1 is sandwiched by and the upper and lower covers 12, 13 are integrally tightened by the bolts 20, 20 and the nuts 21, 21 to complete the connector assembly.

After the shield wire connector is assembled in accordance with the above steps, the female terminals 6 and 6 are erroneously inserted into the cavities 9 and 9, and as a result, the shield wire 1 to the outer cover 11 is formed. If there is an error in the mounting direction of the inner cover, that is, the polarity between the extension lines 3 and 3 corresponding to the input signal line and the output signal line, the upper cover 12 is subjected to a process reverse to that at the time of assembly.
After pulling up the housing 7 from the released lower cover 13, the housing 7 is rotated 180 degrees, that is, inverted, as shown in FIG. After that, the housing 7 is fitted and inserted again so that the locking pieces 7a, 7a engage with the engaging grooves 14, 14 and is housed in the lower cover 13 and the upper cover 12 is united. Can be resolved.

The female connector F, which has been assembled through the above steps, is connected to the male connector M and the female terminals 6 and 6 are connected.
The male terminals 25, 25 are engaged with each other to establish an electrical connection. Further, by fitting the outer cover 11 having conductivity and the main body 24, electrical connection between the connectors is performed via the shield material 2 and the connection fitting 5. Further, the metal plate 19 of the upper cover 12 is the outer cover 1
When the 1 and the main body 24 are connected, they are arranged in a close contact state between them and serve to strengthen the electrical connection between them. Since the housing shape is vertically symmetrical when inserting the terminal into the cavity, erroneous insertion is likely to occur. Therefore, the notch 7b is provided at one end of the housing 7 in the vertical direction.
Even so, if an erroneous insertion occurs, the connector of the present invention allows easy reassembly of the connector.

In the above embodiment, the case where the cavities 9, 9 of the two chambers are arranged vertically in the housing 7 is shown. However, as a modification, the cavities 9 are arranged horizontally as shown in FIG. The cavities 29, 29 in the housing 28 are arranged so as to be point-symmetric with respect to the center P of the housing 28, and the connector 2 has such a shape.
8 may be provided so as to be built therein.

As described above, according to the shielded wire connector of the present invention, the housing accommodating the terminals at symmetrical positions is held by the outer cover so as to be reversible, so that the housing for the terminals is provided. Even if a wrong insertion occurs, the housing can be inverted and held by the outer cover, so that the wrong insertion can be easily eliminated and the polarity can be corrected.
The time and effort required for reassembling the conventional connector can be greatly reduced. Further, since the outer cover and the main body are made electrically conductive and interconnection of the shield portions is achieved simply by connecting the connectors, the connector structure can be simplified and an increase in manufacturing cost can be prevented. Furthermore, the exposed end of the pair shielded wire is made as short as possible, and at the same time, the rear half of the outer cover is set to a length that can simply absorb the twist of the paired shielded wire. can do. Moreover, even if it is formed in such a small size, it is possible to favorably perform the reassembly work due to the incorrect insertion of the terminal as described above.
