PURPOSE:To realize a stable clamper state even with small boards regardless of board size by a method wherein a clamper which clamps a board in a board guide is divided in the board longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of clampers 3 divided in the board longitudinal direction are arranged in a pair of board guides 1 arranged on both sides of a board 2 and having a length over the longest board, and clampers 3 are individually driven by a plurality of air cylinders 5 fixed in the board guide 1. A plurality of sensors 4 which detects the presence of a board 2 are provided along the board guide 1 to sense in which range of the transfer direction of a board 2 it is located.
