Abstract

PURPOSE:To completely prevent short-circuiting at the end of a battery by applying a resin coat to at least one surface of an insulating sheet, and thermally fusing the insulating sheet to the connecting piece with the coat resin. CONSTITUTION:In a resin-coated insulating sheet 14, an acryl resin coat 15 is formed in a thickness of about 5-100mum on one surface of flame retardant perchment paper. Figure shows a pack constituting battery where five cylindrical cells 1 are connected in series to each other. The sheet 14 is interposed between a connecting piece 2 for a drawing lead and another connecting piece 2 disposed across the adjacent cells 1, 1 in such a manner that the surface of the coat 15 is oriented toward the drawing connecting piece 2 for the drawing lead. The coat resin is melted with application of heat above 150 deg.C by a heater 4, to be thermally fused to the connecting piece 2 for the drawing lead. Consequently, it is possible to prevent deviation of the insulating sheet or deformation of the connecting piece due to an outside cause such as vibration or a shock during the use, so as to completely prevent short-circuiting at the end of the battery.

As shown in FIG. 2, in a conventional battery having a pack structure, a plurality of cylindrical batteries 1 are arranged side by side, and each battery 1 is connected in series by a connecting piece 2 such as a nickel ribbon welded to the end face of the battery. In order to prevent short circuit between the connecting pieces 2 and 2 and between the connecting piece 2 and the exposed surface of the battery 1, an insulating sheet 3 such as insulating paper is provided between the connecting pieces 2 and 2.

However, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the above-mentioned conventional method alone causes connection pieces due to displacement of the insulating sheet 3 and deformation of the connection pieces 2 in the resin case 10 during use. There is a defect that short circuits occur between the batteries 1 and 1 due to the contact between the two and the two or the contact piece 2 contacting the end surface of the constituent battery 1.

In order to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, the present invention has three or more cylindrical batteries arranged side by side, a connecting piece for connecting each battery in series, and these connecting members. In a battery pack composed of an insulating sheet interposed between connecting pieces in order to prevent a short circuit between batteries due to one piece, a resin coat is applied to at least one surface of the insulating sheet, and the insulating sheet is formed by this coat resin. The connection piece was heat-welded.

[Function] A resin-coated insulating sheet is placed between overlapping connecting pieces, and the coating resin is heat-welded to the connecting piece, whereby the heat-welded connecting piece and the insulating sheet are integrated with each other, resulting in a displacement of the insulating sheet or a connecting plate. It is possible to completely prevent a short circuit between the batteries due to the deformation. Further, when a thermoplastic resin having excellent heat resistance such as an acrylic resin is used, the insulation sheet is not displaced and the connection plate is not deformed even when the battery temperature rises.
