The above-mentioned conventional techniques have the following problems. Even if the fan motor 3 stops due to some abnormality such as disconnection or short circuit, the water-cooled engine 1
The water temperature sensor 11 operates due to overheating or an abnormal rise in the cooling water temperature, and the safe automatic stop device 5 continues the operation until the fuel stop solenoid 12 stops the fuel supply. Therefore, the replenishment of the cooling water to the radiator 4 is not enough to deal with the failure of the fan motor 3, and even if the operation is restarted, the water-cooled engine 1 may stop in the same situation. It is an object of the present invention to detect a fan motor abnormality and stop the operation of a water-cooled engine with a simple configuration and display the abnormal state when the fan motor stops due to some abnormality such as disconnection or short circuit. Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 (A) is a system diagram of an engine protection device for a water-cooled engine generator, and FIG. 1 (B) is a connection diagram of main parts of the device. In the figure, the output of a generator 2 linked to a water-cooled engine 1 is supplied to a fan motor 3, and the fan motor 3 blows air to radiate heat from a radiator 4 of engine cooling water. Then, the safety automatic stop device 5 is made to cooperate with the fuel stop solenoid 12 as the engine stopping means 6 of the water-cooled engine 1 so that the water-cooled engine 1 is automatically stopped in the case of some operation abnormality such as an abnormal rise in the cooling water temperature or a decrease in hydraulic pressure. It is configured as follows. Further, the safety automatic stop device 5 includes the fan motor abnormality detection means 8
Is based on the fact that the fan motor 3 has detected an abnormality,
The engine stop means 6 automatically stops the water-cooled engine 1, and the fan motor abnormality lamp 9 displays the abnormal state. That is,
As the fan motor abnormality detecting means 8, for example, a relay winding 8a is inserted in series with the fan motor 3 and connected to the output supply circuit 7 of the generator 2. Then, the backflow prevention diode 5c is inserted in series to the switch 11a of the water temperature sensor 11 provided in the cooling water passage 10 to connect to the input 5e of the abnormal water temperature detection circuit 5a, and the normally closed contact 8b of the relay is connected to the backflow prevention diode. It is connected in parallel with the switch 11a circuit via 5d. In addition, the power supply circuit 1
The fan motor abnormality lamp 9 is connected in parallel with the water temperature abnormality lamp 13 from 6 and is connected to the normally closed contact 8b of the relay. The safety automatic stop device 5 includes the water temperature sensor 11
The temperature of the cooling water is detected by, and when the switch 11a of the water temperature sensor 11 is turned on at an abnormal temperature equal to or higher than the set upper limit temperature, the abnormal water temperature detection circuit 5a operates and the fuel stop solenoid 12 is operated. The energization is stopped, the fuel supply to the water-cooled engine 1 is cut off to stop the operation, and the water temperature abnormality lamp 13 is turned on to display the abnormality state. When the fan motor 3 is operating normally by the output of the generator 2, the relay winding 8a
Since the current flows through the normally closed contact 8b, the safety automatic stop device 5 does not operate. When the fan motor 3 is disconnected or short-circuited and the fuse 17 is blown, current does not flow through the relay winding 8a and the normally closed contact 8b is closed, and the input 5e of the abnormal water temperature detection circuit 5a and the fan are closed. The motor abnormality lamp 9 is grounded.
Therefore, the abnormal water temperature detection circuit 5a is activated to stop energizing the fuel stop solenoid 12 to cut off the fuel supply to the water-cooled engine 1 to stop the operation, and the fan motor abnormality lamp 9 is turned on to indicate an abnormal state. indicate. The switch 11a of the water temperature sensor 11 and the normally closed contact 8 of the relay
b is separated by the backflow prevention diodes 5c and 5d and does not interfere with each other, so the abnormal water temperature detection circuit 5
It is possible to share a with water temperature abnormality detection and fan motor abnormality detection. Incidentally, reference numeral 14 is a cooling water pump, reference numeral 15
Is another sensor circuit such as hydraulic pressure, and reference numeral 5b is an abnormality detection circuit for detecting another abnormal state. Further, instead of inserting the relay winding 8a as the fan motor abnormality detecting means 8 in series with the fan motor 3, other known techniques such as detecting a terminal voltage when the fan motor is operating with a voltage detector Can be applied freely.
