PURPOSE:To provide a large scale, totally-enclosed, internally cooled electric rotating machine, e.g. a turbine generator, in which overall length (shaft length) is shortened and the weight and dimension of unit component are reduced. CONSTITUTION:A stator frame 12 for generally supporting a stator core 1 and a coil 2 is a unit component having substantially same length as the stator core 1. A suction zone is constituted by disposing a coil cover 13 surrounding the protruded part of the stator coil 2, an exhaust duct 14 fixed to the side face of the stator frame 12 with air coolers 15 being loaded to the opposite sides, and an end cover 16 surrounding a bearing unit 10. Since unit components are disposed along a ventilation circuit, weight and dimensions of largest component can be decreased and since the shaft length is shortened, improved effect can be realized in the aspect of vibration.
