Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid composition, excellent in safety, water solubility and preservation stability for a long period and useful as a flocculant, etc., without any problem in inflammability by mixing a dispersion of a water-soluble polymer in an oil with a dispersion of the water-soluble polymer in an aqueous solution of a salt. CONSTITUTION:This liquid composition is obtained by mixing (A) a dispersion of a water-soluble polymer in an oil such as a water-in-oil type water-soluble polymer emulsion prepared by carrying out the water-in-oil type emulsion polymerization of a water-soluble monomer such as (meth)acrylic acid with (B) a dispersion of the water-soluble polymer in an aqueous solution of a salt such as a water-soluble polymer dispersion in the aqueous solution of the salt obtained by carrying out the dispersion polymerization of the water-soluble monomer such as (meth)acrylamide in the aqueous solution of the salt. Furthermore, the mixing weight ratio of the components (A) to (B) is preferably (1/10) to (10/1).

The water-in-oil type water-soluble polymer emulsion consumes an expensive organic solvent, has flammability, and polymer fine particles easily precipitate and separate.
In addition, there are drawbacks such that initial phase thickening and mamako tend to occur due to poor phase inversion when dissolved in water. On the other hand, the dispersion of the polymer in the salt aqueous solution has drawbacks such as the polymer composition being limited due to the characteristics in the production method, and the polymer concentration in the final product being easily lowered. The present invention provides a novel liquid composition having good water solubility and long-term storage stability, increasing the degree of freedom with respect to the composition and concentration of the polymer, suppressing flammability, and solving problems in the Fire Defense Law. Is an issue.

The water-soluble polymer-containing liquid composition of the present invention comprises a mixture of a water-soluble polymer dispersion in oil (A) and a water-soluble polymer dispersion in salt solution (B). Regarding each ionicity, it is possible to obtain stable ones in all combinations. That is, the dispersion in oil (A) and the dispersion in salt aqueous solution (B) have the same ionic property,
Not only when one of them is nonionic, but when (A) is cationic, (B) is anionic, conversely (A) is anionic and (B) is cationic, the ion complex It is possible to obtain a stable fluid liquid composition without forming and agglomerating. When the water-soluble polymer-containing liquid composition of the present invention is used as a coagulant for treating wastewater, a dehydrating agent, a paper-making agent used in the paper-making process, etc., the target fine particles are often anionic. It is preferable that the dispersion in oil (A) and the dispersion in salt solution (B) are cationic, but are not particularly limited.

The water-soluble polymer-containing liquid composition of the present invention is considered to have a complicated heterogeneous system of the oil phase, the salt aqueous solution phase and the polymer fine particles. For this reason, the dispersion in oil (A) forms fine droplets, the phase inversion becomes easy, and the solubility is improved. Since the oil is no longer in the continuous phase, sedimentation and separation of polymer fine particles does not occur and flammability is also suppressed. The dispersion (B) in the aqueous salt solution has long-term storage stability increased by the action of preventing direct contact with the surface of the polymer fine particles. In the water-soluble polymer-containing liquid composition of the present invention, the polymer fine particles in the oil dispersion (A) and the polymer fine particles in the salt aqueous solution dispersion (B) are independently and directly contacted with each other. Due to their presence, both can be mixed in any proportions, increasing the freedom with respect to polymer composition and concentration.

The polymer concentration and oil content of the water-soluble polymer-containing liquid composition of the present invention obtained by mixing the dispersion (A) in oil and the dispersion (B) in aqueous salt solution at the ratios shown in Table 3 are shown. The results of measuring the concentration and the viscosity are shown in Table 3. As can be seen from Table 3, the water-soluble polymer-containing liquid composition of the present invention has a high polymer concentration and a low oil content, and exhibits low viscosity and good flowability immediately after production. Also, even if stored at room temperature for 3 months,
A stable fluid liquid composition that does not cause agglomeration,
As a result of measuring the viscosity, a value almost the same as the value immediately after production shown in Table 3 was obtained. The viscosity was measured at 25 ° C. using a Brookfield viscometer. The water-soluble polymer-containing liquid composition shown in Table 3 was not flammable because no trouble during dissolution due to poor phase inversion was observed.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY As described above, the novel water-soluble polymer-containing liquid composition of the present invention has the drawbacks of the water-in-oil type water-soluble polymer emulsion (A) and the dispersion in the water-soluble polymer salt aqueous solution. It is a solution of the problem of (B), and by mixing both, there is no problem of flammability, it is excellent in safety, the polymer concentration in the final product is high, and the water solubility and stability are high. Since it is a novel liquid composition that has good and long-term storage, it can be used as a coagulant for treating wastewater, a dehydrating agent, a paper-making agent used in a paper-making process, and the like. Since the novel liquid composition containing a water-soluble polymer of the present invention is excellent in economic efficiency, it has a great industrial utility value.
