反射被膜は多色印刷によって得られた光利用効率を高め
るもので、必要に応じて設けられた表面の拡散シートと
共に均一照度の面照明を行うためのものである。3は導
光板2の側面に導光板の辺に平行に少許離隔して配置さ
れた光源で、冷陰極管や螢光灯からなる。4は光源3を
覆う反射シートで、アルミニウムシート等からなり、一
端は導光板2の裏面に接着され、他端は導光板2の表面
に当接されている。5は光源3と反射シート4を収納
し、光源の両端でこれを支えるランプハウスで、6は液
晶セル1を覆うフロントパネルで、いずれも金属板成形
品などからなる。

ーボネート樹脂からなる棒状樹脂7若しくはゴムを介し
て反射シート4を押圧固定するものである。これによっ
て反射シート4は導光板2に密着固定され、光源からの
熱が伝わっても反射シート内部の光を効率よく導光板の
端縁から導光板内部に導くことができる。なお舌片部を
ランプハウスに設ける例で説明したが、液晶セル1を収
納するフロントパネル6の端縁が光源3の近傍に位置す
るときにはフロントパネル6に舌片部を設けてもよい。
