By the way, with the recent strong demand for miniaturization of equipment, Fig. 3
As shown in (a), the contacts (1) are arranged in a plurality of rows, for example, in four rows in a zigzag pattern. In this case, it is easy to fix the wires to the cover B and to arrange a large number of connecting wires. There is a strong demand for ease of use. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 3 (b), the cover B is divided into two in the direction of the escape slits (2a) so as to be addressed to two rows, for example, and a drawing space (2b) of the line (3) is formed in the center. (Problems of the prior art) However, as described above, the split covers B'and B "are engaged with the protrusions.
In the structure in which the cover B is configured by integrally combining (4) and the U-shaped elastic lock piece (5), the lock piece (5) is smoothly guided by the locking protrusion (4) without being caught. It is necessary to have a slight amount of rattling between the two, and the engaging cover (5b) at the tip does not get caught and the latching protrusion (4) In order to make it fall smoothly to the outside, it is necessary to have a slight amount of rattling between them.

However, as described above, the miniaturization of the connector has progressed, and the arrangement pitch of the contacts in the connector main body A and the distance between the contact rows have become remarkably small.
When the arrangement pitch of the escape slits (2a) and the gap between the slit rows in B ″ become extremely small, the lock mechanism (5)
Even if a small amount of noise is generated, it reverberates greatly, and for example, as shown in FIG. 4 (a), the press-fitting groove (2a) of one of the divided covers B'is assumed.
And contact tail fixed to the connector body A side
Even if (1c) is positioned, the other split cover B ″ and the corresponding contact tail as shown by the dotted line in the figure
The contact tail (1c) may not be inserted due to misalignment with the (1c). Therefore the tail (1
The cover B is pushed into the connector main body A while the c) is still hitting the escape slit (2a), and the contact tail (1c) is deformed as shown in FIG. Connection of the contact tail (1c) is deformed by shorting one of the contact blades (1c) of the contact tail (1c) as shown in Fig. 4 (c). Cause a fatal defect.

Therefore, in order to eliminate this defect, between the contact tail (1c) and the escape slit (2a), there is
A large [rare] is provided in the escape slit (2a) so that the deviation of the position based on it can be absorbed. According to this method, the contact tail (1
Although it can be avoided due to deformation of c), this time the line (3) that should be pushed into the press-fit slit (1a) by being pushed by the contact tail (1c) has become large as shown in Fig. 4 (d).
It is pushed into (2a). For this reason the line (3) by the beveled blade (1b)
Insufficient or incomplete cut into the cover (3a), resulting in poor connection, or even if there is a cut in the cover (3a), press fit into the press fit slit (1a) is insufficient and There is a drawback that the connection may become unstable due to insufficient pressure.

That is, the abutting surfaces of the split covers are butt-joined to each other by the projecting rod and the press-fitting hole, and press-fitting is performed in a state where the projecting rod or the press-fitting hole is in a uniform multipoint contact with a circle and a regular polygon. This feature eliminates the rattling at the time of joining to prevent connection failure due to deformation of the contact tail due to unstable positioning, and allows the split covers to be joined together with a small amount of pressure input. It was done. Next, the present invention will be specifically described by way of examples.

(Operation of the embodiment) As described above, according to the present invention, since the protruding covers (6) are press-fitted into the press-fitting holes (7), the split covers B'and B "are positionally locked to each other. In addition, the protruding rod (6) is circular, the press-fitting hole (7) is a square, and the protruding rod (6) and the press-fitting hole (7) are at four points. Since the contact is made, the pressure applied to each contact point is equal, so that the fixed position does not get out of order at the time of press fitting, and the positioning accuracy is remarkably improved. It is possible to reduce the possibility that the positions of the covers B ′ and B ″ with respect to the position of the cover B ′ and B ″ may be misaligned to cause a connection failure due to deformation of the contact tail. As a result, it is not necessary to increase the escape slit as in the conventional case, so that there is no possibility that the wire pushed by the contact tail when the connector body and the cover are joined is pushed into the escape slit and the connection is hindered. As described above, since the contact between the protruding rod (6) and the press-fitting hole (7) is made at four points and becomes point contact, it is possible to relatively easily couple with a small press-in force.
Therefore, according to the present invention, the defects of the conventional structure can be eliminated, and the pressure contact connector can be downsized.

(Other Embodiments) In the above embodiments, an example in which the projecting rod has a circular cross section and the press-fitting hole has a square cross section has been described, but the reverse is also possible. Also, in the above, the protruding rod (6) is provided on the side of the split cover B ',
The press-fitting hole (7) is provided on the B ″ side, but the reverse is also possible. Further, as shown in FIG. 6, the projecting rod (6) and the press-fitting hole (7) are provided on the split cover B ′ side, and the split cover B ″ side is provided. Reverse the position for press-fitting holes (7)
And a stake (6) may be provided. In this case, since the divided covers B ′ and B ″ can be made to have the same shape, the number of parts can be reduced. Further, the regular quadrangular cross section may be more regular polygonal cross section. In this case, up to a regular octagon. For example, the pressure input will increase, but the positioning accuracy will not change.

In a connector consisting of a connector body with 120 rows and 4 rows arranged in a staggered pattern and a split cover, a rod with a circular cross section with a diameter of 1.3 mm and a length of 2 mm and a press-fit hole with a diameter of 1.2 mm and a depth of 4 mm are provided. When a binding test was conducted, the force input was 1.5 kg, which can be easily pressed in with the hand, and the binding force was zero. In addition, the size of the escape sleeve can be set to 2 mm in width and 0.47 mm in depth length (corresponding to the thickness of the contact tail), and it is possible to prevent sinking into the escape slit.
