Alternatively, a large amount of Styrofoam is used for packaging office equipment such as personal computers, fixed disks, printers, PPC copiers, etc. in order to prevent product damage during transportation. In addition, Styrofoam is easy to mold and process and has excellent cushioning properties.
It is often used for various purposes such as fruit packaging and optical machine packaging, and the amount used is increasing.

However, since the Styrofoam after use is bulky, it is difficult to treat it and, finally, most of it is incinerated in an incinerator. At this time, a large amount of heat is generated and black smoke is generated if the combustion conditions are bad. This is a problem in terms of environmental measures in combination with the lack of capacity of the incineration facilities of each local government.

For this reason, major electric manufacturers who use a large amount of Styrofoam have been trying to reduce the amount of Styrofoam used by reusing waste paper or using alternative materials such as paper such as corrugated board and pulp for environmental protection. Since it is disadvantageous in cost, it is still in the stage of exploration,
The reality is that the effect is not so great.

In view of these points, one of the inventors of the present invention has at least two prefabricated cushioning materials, such as corrugated cardboard, which are applied to the four corners of an object to be packaged (generally rectangular parallelepiped) in order to reduce styrofoam. Made using more than one layer of material,
In addition, it is thought that it should be possible to use it again and again to save resources and prevent pollution, and as a result of earnest research on the means, an invention relating to a triangular-pyramidal cushioning body was completed and a patent has already been applied for.

[0006] However, the triangular pyramid-shaped packaging cushion is extremely effective in supporting eight twills (corners) of a rectangular parallelepiped, but an amplifier, a tuner, a VTR, a thin air conditioner indoor / outdoor unit, and a CD. In order to support and protect thin products such as players, notebook type word processors or personal computers, and small LCD TVs at their four corners, it is necessary to use eight triangular pyramidal packing cushioning materials as in the case of a general rectangular parallelepiped. It turned out to be a little inefficient in terms of efficiency.

However, in this case, the cushioning action is entirely hollow L.
Since it depends on the elasticity of the pattern paper tube or the rectangular tube-shaped member, there is a problem that the cushioning effect is slightly poor and that it is difficult to easily deal with the shape of various types of articles to be packaged. Further, this conventional product has a large number of parts and has a complicated structure, so that there is a problem that the number of assembling steps increases correspondingly and the cost also increases. In addition, the reinforcement of the rectangular tubular member is rather troublesome, and there is a problem that it lacks versatility.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the packaging cushioning member 21 of the present invention is basically a box-shaped case member 22 into which an article 40 to be packaged is inserted, and is inserted inside to cushion the article to be packaged. The accordion is composed of a mountain-valley-shaped three-dimensional plate member 25. In general, the box-shaped case member 22 may or may not have the opening 34. That is, the box-shaped case member 22 may be anything as long as the three-dimensional plate member 25 can be packaged and fixed. For example, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 13, the pair of box-shaped members 22 is inserted into and fixed to the accordion-shaped three-dimensional plate-shaped member 25 in a coronal shape from above and below to complete the packaging cushion 21. Further, in the case of the present embodiment, the three-dimensional plate member 25 is provided with a plurality of three-dimensional notches 28, 28 ... These three-dimensional cutouts are formed as development cutouts 29 at the stage of the development plate member 26 (see FIGS. 10 and 11) according to the shape of both ends of the packaged object.

The bending pitch of the three-dimensional plate member 25 is determined in consideration of the weight of the packaged object, the expected impact load, and the like. That is, if the static load or dynamic load per unit area in the X, Y, and Z directions becomes too large, the three-dimensional plate member may buckle. Therefore, the expansion plate member 26 should have a sufficient safety factor in advance. The bending pitch and the shape of the notch are designed. The X, Y, and Z directions are as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, and the Y direction (not shown) in FIG. 3 is perpendicular to the paper surface. The well-designed packaging cushioning body of the present invention has extremely high buckling strength as compared with the conventional example, and yet has an extremely large energy absorbing ability to withstand an impact load.

The one shown in FIG. 3 is the most general one and is the same as that shown in FIG. Since the bent shape of the ridges and valleys is symmetrical, it is the easiest to process and the pitch P can be easily adjusted. However, since the adhesion area of the peaks 30 and the valley bottoms 31 to the inner surface of the box-shaped case is small, the strength in the X direction is high. Tends to be slightly weak. In the case of FIG. 4, since the peaks 30 and the valley bottoms 31 are both flat, there is an advantage that a large adhesion area with the inner surface of the box-shaped case can be obtained, and even when the pitch P is large, X
The directional strength can be increased. The one shown in FIG. 5 is shown in FIGS.
It has an intermediate character, and is flat on only one side from the peak to the valley bottom, and the structure and performance are intermediate. The flat portions may be staggered, that is, the peaks may be flat, the peaks at the valley bottom may be flat, the valleys may be flat at the valley bottom, or the peaks may be flat at the peaks.

FIG. 6 shows a three-dimensional plate member having a cross section in which the pulse-like rising is vertical. Since this is flat in both mountains and valleys, the bonding area is large, but the rigidity in the diagonal direction (shear resistance) tends to be slightly poor. However, the compressive strength in the Z-axis direction does not decrease even if the pitch width is large.

The one shown in FIG. 7 has a substantially equilateral triangle cross section, and since both the peaks and valleys are flat, the bonding area can be wide, the rigidity in the diagonal direction can be high, and the strength in the Z direction can be expected considerably.

The peaks and valleys (faces or lines) of the three-dimensional plate member 25 are abutted or fixed to the inner surface of the box-shaped case member 22 and have high strength and shock absorbing ability in the X, Y and Z directions as a whole. It becomes a packaging cushion. The opening 34 is formed so as to fit the shape of both ends of the object to be packaged. In BX, the height is 2H per 1N and ΔOF
Because Z and ΔOBX are similar. Then the line segment OZ
Is perpendicular to the line segment ZF, so S = [L 2 + (2NH) 2 ] 1/2 is obtained from the Pythagorean theorem. Therefore, if the number N of peaks, the height H of the peaks, and the length L of the three-dimensional plate member are determined in advance, the length S of the expanded plate member can be calculated. From such a method and empirical data on impact strength, it is possible to prepare a developed rectangular plate-shaped member having appropriate specifications, and easily form a three-dimensional plate-shaped member, and thus the packaging cushioning body of the present invention. The plate-shaped member and the box-shaped case member are usually made of corrugated cardboard, but other members that retain their shape, such as paperboard,
It can also be plastic impregnated paperboard or plastic laminated paperboard.
