Abstract

PURPOSE:To optimize the adjustment of white balance by storing various kinds of data for white balance adjustment and inputting code data in accordance with the kind of a personal computer to be connected. CONSTITUTION:At the time of connecting the personal computer A as a connection equipment, for example, code data of the personal computer and a prescribed instruction for adjusting white balance are inputted to an input part 3, data 21 (A225) and 22 (C213) for cutoff and amplification degree adjustment, which are stored in a non-volatile memory 4, by using a microcomputer 5, are registered in a prescribed register, and a cutoff control signal 8 and an amplification degree control signal 9 are generated based on data 21 and 22 for adjustment. The signals 8 and 9 are transmitted to a white balance adjustment part 1 in a prescribed order and the cutoff point of an amplifier and the amplification degree of the amplifier are set. Thus, the connection to the personal computer, etc., based on the setting of various color temperatures to a CRT display is attained.

2. Description of the Related Art Most CRT displays have a multi-scan function and are compatible with devices such as personal computers having various horizontal and vertical frequencies. Therefore, various personal computers and devices are connected to these CRT displays for use. Conventionally, in a multi-scan monitor, only one type of standard setting data for white balance can be registered internally, even though various personal computers and devices having different color temperature settings are connected. Therefore,
In order to obtain the optimum white balance, the user needs to adjust the white balance of the multi-scan monitor with the device connected, except when the optimum white balance is obtained when the standard setting data is used.
