に給送されている連結止具10を打込む。本打込機に使
用する連結止具10は第8図に示すように、プラスチッ
ク等の連結部材21により連結されているが、この連結
止具10を打込機により被打込部材に打込むには、限ら
れた大きさのマガジン9に収納しなければならないた
め、一度に多量の連結止具10をマガジン9に収納する
ためには連結止具10のピッチ22がより小さいことが
望ましい。そこでこのピッチ22を可能な限り小さくす
るために、止具の頭部19後方がその止具の後方に連結
されている止具の頭部19前方に重なるような連結止具
10が普通である。このため打撃ピストン3と一体結合
されたドライバ4が先頭止具17を打込むと同時に2本
目止具18の頭部19をも打撃しないように第8図、第
9図に示すようにドライバ4の断面形状は半月形をして
いるのが普通である。しかしこの種のドライバ4は複雑
な断面形状であるため、製作工数が重み生産性が悪い。
また連結止具10頭部の重なる部分を減肉した半月形断
面となっているために円形断面のドライバに比べ、同一
射出口5内に占める断面積が小さく、連結止具10を打
込む時の止具の頭部19との接触面積も小さいため強
度、耐摩耗性が低いという欠点を有していた。
