Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the exterior terminal parts of a ventilating apparatus which can perform an excellent rain water shedding function by a method wherein a cap body is enlarged peripherally from the inner end of its connecting part into contact with exterior wall, and a freely rotatable vane is provided confronting the exterior opening part CONSTITUTION:A vent cap consists of a cylindrical connecting part 2 adapted to be fitted into an outer open end of a ventilating duct 1 and a hood-like cap body 3 peripherally enlarged from the inner end of the cylindrical connecting part 2 into contact with an exterior wall W. The cap body 3 is provided in its interior with a freely rotatable vane 14 supported on a shaft 13 in a position located outwardly of the outer open end of the ventilating duct and confronting a gallery part 10. The rotating vane 14 is mounted to the end of the shaft retained by a V-shaped mounting leg 15, whereby the rotating vane 14 can rotate within the radial operating range corresponding to the radius of an opening part 9 of a hood 5 confronting the opening part 9 thereof. This arrangement of the ventilating fan prevents the intrusion of rain water into the ventilating apparatus.
