形をなし、直径方向の二個所に設けた折曲げ手段10
A,10Bを介して折曲げ可能に形成されている。すな
わち、ペッサリー1となすための半円形の2個の弧状体
2は図2に示すように断面ほぼ円形の適度な剛性を有す
る合成樹脂(あるいは金属の場合もある)とされ、弧状
体2の各端部3は図1に示すように段差状に形成され、
かつ端面4は止め軸7を中心とした曲面(図2,図3の
端面4の形状参照)に形成されていて、図1に示すよう
に、各端部3は対向状に合致させ、止め軸7を挿着する
ことで折曲げ手段10A,10Bとされている。そし
て、一方の折曲げ手段10Aには、ペッサリー1の折曲
げ、すなわち弧状体2の一方の止め軸7における折曲げ
をロック及びロック解除する操作レバー11が設けられ

弧状体2を止め軸7を中心として係止部12が係止突起
6に当接する位置まで曲げることができる(図8,図7
の形状参照)。なお、図7の形状に曲げたペッサリー1
を正規の形状に戻す場合は、両弧状体2を図1の円形状
になるように曲げ戻せば、操作レバー11はスプリング
19にて付勢されていることより、図6の状態から自動

で、ペッサリー1の本来の機能は従来と同様になし得
る。なお、正規の形状にしたペッサリー1は操作レバー
11のロックによって折曲げ手段10Aがロックされて
いるので治療中に折曲がることはない。子宮の支持に使
用したペッサリー1を膣内より取外す場合は、適宜手段
にて操作レバー11の操作部位13を押し、折曲げ手段
10Aのロックを解き、ペッサリー1を押し曲げて幅狭
