2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as disclosed in, for example, Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 58-4029, a probe provided on a plug of a housing for accommodating a battery liquid and between the probe and the negative electrode. A liquid level detection device for a storage battery has been proposed, which includes a resistor and a light emitting diode that are connected in series with each other. In this conventional liquid level detection device, when the liquid level of the battery liquid in the housing is at a predetermined height position, the probe penetrates into the battery liquid, that is, the probe comes into contact with the battery liquid. A circuit is closed between the negative electrode and the negative electrode, and accordingly, the light emitting diode is lit by energization. On the other hand, when the liquid level of the battery liquid is lower than the above-mentioned height position, the probe is in a state of being separated from the liquid level of the battery liquid, so that the circuit between the probe and the negative electrode is cut off and the light emitting diode is Turn off the light. Since the light emitting diode is turned on or off according to the liquid level of the battery liquid in the housing in this way, the user can visually check the operating state of the light emitting diode to determine the liquid level of the battery liquid in the housing. Can be confirmed from the outside. Therefore, it is possible to save the trouble of opening the plug of the storage battery when checking the liquid level of the battery liquid.

Since the present invention is configured as described above, when the liquid surface of the battery liquid in the housing is at a predetermined height position, the probe comes into contact with the battery liquid. The circuit is closed between them and the light emitting diode is energized, and accordingly, the light emitting portion exposed from the surface of the mouth plug of the housing is turned on. On the other hand, when the liquid level of the battery liquid is lower than the above-mentioned height position, the probe is in a state of being separated from the liquid level of the battery liquid, so that the circuit between the probe and the negative electrode is cut off, and The light emitting part goes out. That is, depending on the liquid level of the battery liquid in the housing, the light emitting part exposed from the surface of the mouth plug of the housing is turned on or off, so that the user visually checks the operating state of the light emitting part. The liquid level of the battery liquid in the housing can be confirmed from the outside. Also,
Since the resistor and at least a part of the light emitting diode are embedded in the plug, it is not necessary to specially provide a member for holding the resistor and the light emitting diode, and the structure is simple.

In this embodiment, since the liquid surface 6a of the battery liquid 6 is normally at the predetermined height position shown by the solid line in FIG. 1, the lower end of the probe 7 is below the liquid surface 6a at this time. Since the probe 7 is in contact with the battery fluid 6, the circuit of the battery fluid 6-probe 7-resistor 8-light emitting diode 9-negative electrode 2 is closed, and as a result, the plug of the storage battery is closed. The light emitting unit 10 exposed from the surface of 5 is turned on. On the other hand, when the liquid surface 6a of the battery liquid 6 is lower than the predetermined height position as shown by the broken line in FIG. 1, the probe 7 is in a state of being separated from the liquid surface 6a of the battery liquid 6, and therefore the probe 7 The circuit between the negative electrode 2 and the negative electrode 2 is cut off, and the light emitting unit 10 is turned off.
