に応じてヒータ4を作動させ,用紙2や感光体1の湿分
を除去する。このように用紙2等の除湿を行うことによ
り,全環境にわたり鮮明な画像を得るように図られてい

0℃の範囲に保つようにする必要がある。しかし,通常

熱を奪うため,用紙の通過枚数に応じてドラム温度が降
下する。上記従来の複写機A0 では,用紙等の除湿を行
っているが,必ずしもこのドラム温度の降下を防止する
ことはできず,従ってドラム温度の制御が困難となる場
合がある。本発明はこのような従来の技術における課題
を解決するために画像形成装置を改良し,温度依存性の
ある感光体についても良好な複写性能が得られる画像形
成装置を提供することを目的とするものである。

2を加熱する熱ローラ4(加熱手段に相当)と,ドラム
1に付設されてこのドラム1の温度を検出するサーミス
タ5(検出手段に相当)と,熱ローラ4による用紙2の
加熱温度を制御するコントローラ6等が設けられてい
る。そして,複写プロセスにおいて,送給された用紙2
がドラム1に達した時,コントローラ6は,この用紙2
の温度がサーミスタ5により検出されるドラム1の温度
に等しくなるように熱ローラ4を制御する。従って,こ

熱ローラ4により加熱された用紙2の温度を検出するサ
ーミスタ5b(第2の検出手段に相当)と,熱ローラ4
による用紙2の加熱温度を制御するコントローラ6′
(制御手段に相当)等が設けられている。そして,複写
プロセスにおいて,コントローラ6′はサーミスタ5a
により検出されるドラム1の温度と,サーミスタ5bに
より検出される用紙2の温度とが等しくなるように熱ロ
ーラ4を制御する。従って,この複写機A2 ではドラム
1の温度と,用紙2の温度との差が厳密に実測されるの
で熱ローラ4の温度制御精度が向上する。この制御は,
ドラム1と熱ローラ4との距離が短く,両者間を移送さ
れる用紙2の温度降下が無視できる程度小さい場合に特
に有効である。ただし,用紙2の温度降下が大きい場合
には,この降下量に見合った分だけサーミスタ5bの温
度をかさ上げすれば良い。その結果,この複写機A2
よっても複写性能の低下を有効に防止することができ
る。以上のように,上記両実施例のいずれによっても,
温度依存性のある感光体についても良好な複写性能が得
られる複写機を得ることができた。尚,上記両実施例の
複写機A1 ,A2 では,いずれもa−Siドラムを搭載
したが実使用に際しては,温度依存性のあるドラムにつ
いてはどのようなものについても本発明を適用でき,そ
の場合にも複写性能を向上させることができる。尚,上
記両実施例では,いずれも加熱手段として熱ローラを,
又(第1,第2の)検出手段としてサーミスタを用いた
が,実使用に際しては他の種類の加熱手段(例えば電熱
ヒータ等)や他の種類の検出手段(例えば熱電対等)を
用いても何ら支障はない。
