Abstract

PURPOSE:To hydrophilicize wool to impart it with excellent sweat absorptivity by irradiating wool coated with a hydrophilic resin, etc., with ultraviolet light. CONSTITUTION:Wool is coated with a hydrophilic resin (e.g. a hydrophilic silicone resin) and an ultraviolet light absorber and then irradiated with ultraviolet light to deyelop cracks in the cuticular layer forming wool scale, thus the wool can be hydrophilicized and imparted with excellent sweat absorptivity.

[Industrial application] Wool fibers have water repellency when they start to get wet, and when they are worn directly on the skin, they are difficult to absorb sweat, and when worn in humid summers in Japan, they have difficulty in wearing comfort. I will. By making the wool water absorbent, it contributes to expanded applications.

1. Water absorption processing of wool fiber is performed by descaling with an oxidizing agent, but the oxidizing agent used has difficulty in work due to odor and toxicity, and may cause pollution problems. There is, so it is necessary to consider this point when producing. However, this descaling process is often performed as a shrink-proofing process rather than as a water-absorption process. 2. Water absorption processing by attaching a hydrophilic resin. Since the hydrophilic resin used at this time has a strong affinity with water, it easily falls off by washing and lacks durability. 3. The fibers are made hydrophilic by adhering porous ceramics having a liquid adsorption force. In this method, it is necessary to use a resin having good adhesiveness in order to bond the fibers and the ceramics and to have durability. This makes the texture harder. It is also possible to improve the durability by opening a gap by descaling and allowing the ceramics to penetrate into the wool cortex, but the texture tends to become hard due to the nature of the ceramics.

Since the hydrophilic resin is generally easily dissolved in water, the resin falls off by washing and lacks durability by washing. This defect is remedied. If descaling is performed, the wool will be modified to become water-absorbent, but chlorine-based chemicals are often used during processing, and workability is difficult. Have to handle it. With porous ceramics,
Since the texture becomes hard, it has a hydrophilic resin for durable processing.

The cuticle forming a wool scale is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to cause cracks to facilitate penetration of chemicals and water into the wool fiber coat. On the other hand, a hydrophilic drug is permeated into the amorphous part of the wool cortex, and on the other hand, the hydrogen bond or cystine bond of the wool is excited by UV irradiation to give a hydrophilic group such as a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, a carboxymethyl group or an ether bond. It becomes difficult for the chemicals to be separated from the fibers due to the binding with the chemicals that have a certain amount of chemicals and the mutual reaction between the chemicals, and the wool becomes durable and hydrophilic. Regarding the descaling reaction, the use of a reducing agent or an oxidizing agent such as hydrosulfite, sodium bisulfite, or potassium permanganate at the time of UV irradiation can accelerate the progress of off-scale.

Example (2) Hydrophilic silicone resin 1 to 4% owf (concentration) UV absorber 1 to 4% owf (concentration) Sodium bisulfite 20 to 30% ows (concentration) Three types of chemicals were mixed, and a wool fiber cloth was prepared. ~ 4%. Room temperature 40 ° C. UV irradiation dose 40-50
J / cm 2 . Ultraviolet rays act on the cuticle of the outermost shell scale, which makes the wool water repellent, and widens the gap,
It facilitates the penetration of hydrophilic resin into the wool interior. A resin having a hydrophilic functional group is less likely to fall off from the wool due to a reaction with wool, a polymerization reaction of the resin, or the like due to the action of ultraviolet rays, and durability against washing is increased.

[Effects of the Invention] Table 1 shows the time until water drops are dropped on the unprocessed cloth and the processed cloth, and the dropped water is diffused by the wool fiber and becomes wet. The unprocessed cloth forms polka dots when water is dripped and it takes time to diffuse. On the other hand, the work cloth is instantly diffused and becomes wet. Wool cloth is cut into a tape shape, one end is immersed in water, and the rising height of water is measured by a capillary phenomenon. Compared with the unprocessed cloth and the processed cloth, the processed cloth has a higher water rising height. This height is measured in Table 2
