The present invention relates to a tape cassette such as a video cassette or a digital audio tape (DAT) in which a recording medium, for example, a tape-shaped medium is housed in a case.

【0002】[0002]

[Prior Art]

In general, the information media of video cassettes are easily protected from dust and dirt during handling, and are therefore protected by being stored in a synthetic resin case. This case is made of ABS resin (acrylotelyl butadiene styrene copolymer resin). ) Or PS resin (polystyrene resin) or PP resin (polypropylene resin) or the like, and an upper case and a lower case are weld-bonded to each other at a weld portion.

[Problems to be solved by the device]

In the conventional video cassette, as shown in FIG. 6, in the case for storing the media, the upper case a and the lower case b are provided with welding protrusions c, respectively, and the protrusions c and c are joined to each other or the outer periphery of the case. Since the welding ribs d are provided on the mating surfaces of the walls and are joined and integrated by the welding horn e, even if the welding horn e is applied from the outside of the case, the welding portion is near the center of the case, that is, the parting surface. In the case of a video cassette, which is far away from the horn contact surface, which is 10 to 14 mm, the weldability is poor. In particular, the design that welds on the outer peripheral wall causes protrusion after welding, which is not desirable in appearance. Since it is a manufactured product and the polypropylene resin also needs strong energy to melt at the welding protrusions because it is a crystalline resin, welding and contact at locations other than the welding protrusions In welded become a poor appearance, was that also a problem on the trade value and reduced reliability. The present invention is intended to eliminate these conventional defects, has a good case appearance, and can reduce the loss of welding energy to reduce the vibration energy required for welding, and can improve the welding property even with PP resin. However, the purpose of the tape cassette is to provide a safe and highly reliable tape cassette with a high bonding strength in a simple and inexpensive form.

[Means for Solving the Problems]

The present invention is a tape cassette in which a synthetic resin case for accommodating a tape-like medium is composed of an upper case and a lower case, and the upper and lower cases are integrally connected by a welding portion. In this case, the welding surface of the case is an ultrasonic welding horn. The tape cassette is located at a position ⅛ to ¼ of the total thickness of the case from the contact surface.

【0005】[0005]

[Action]

When the upper and lower cases are combined together, the upper and lower cases can be integrated by welding with a welding horn. However, one case, for example, the lower part of the welding protrusions and the upper case of the welding protrusions With the welding ribs between them positioned 1/8 to 1/4 of the total case thickness from the contact surface of the welding horn, the welding ribs are melted and fixed by vibration energy from the outside of the upper case with the welding horn. Since it is integrated, there is no appearance defect due to welding protrusion on the outer surface of the case after welding, energy loss of the welding horn is reduced, welding performance is improved, and vibration energy required for welding is also reduced. Also, it is possible to prevent the generation of white powder at the time of welding and to make a tape cassette with high reliability.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the examples of FIGS. 1 to 4. A case made of polypropylene resin is composed of an upper case 1 and a lower case 2, and the upper and lower cases are welded at a welding portion to accommodate a medium. In addition, the welding portion is a projection 3 provided in a protruding manner on the inner surface of one case, for example, the lower case 2 or both upper and lower cases 1 and 2, and the welding rib 4 is provided on the top surface of the projection. The welding rib 4 is provided so as to abut the inner surface of the projection of the other upper case 1, and the welding rib 4 is melted and fixed integrally from the outside of the upper case 1 by the welding horn 5. That is, the welding surfaces of the upper and lower cases are integrally connected so that they are located at a position t 1 that is ⅛ to ¼ of the total thickness t of the case from the contact surface of the ultrasonic welding horn 5.

In this case, the protrusions 3 may be provided on the lower case 2 and the upper case 1 so that they are melted by the welding horn 5 from the lower case side. It is preferable that the distance between the welding rib 4 and the welding horn 5 that come into contact with the inner surface is as small as possible, for example, a position that is 1/4 inch or less from the welding horn 5. If the welding position is 1/4 inch or more from the outer surface of the case, it may be difficult to weld and should be avoided. In addition, the welding projections are located at the four corners or the center of the case other than the medium storage area, which is the same position as the conventional tapping position, because the overall balance and rigidity of the cassette half are good. Therefore, there is no defect in appearance due to the protrusion after welding, which is effective.

The protrusion 3 is a hollow cylindrical body and has ring-shaped welding ribs 4 projecting from the top surface thereof. However, in all cases, a portion other than the tape reel storage area is formed at the four corners or the center of the case. It is good to arrange by utilizing. Also within casing consisting of the upper case 1 and the lower case 2 which, the tape 11 is deployed wound on a pair of reels 12 and 12 having rotatably, engaged in the locking teeth 12 1 provided on the reel A pair of reel brakes 13 for removing the rotation of the reel 2 and biasing them with springs are provided, and the reel brakes 13 are interlocked by a release lever 14 exposed to the insertion opening of the deck side release pin. ..

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 5, the upper case 1 or the lower case 2 is provided with the recess 6 into which the tip of the welding horn 5 is inserted. Therefore, even in the case of PP resin, there is no energy loss in welding and the efficiency is high. Well, the weldability is greatly improved so that they can be integrally bonded.

In each embodiment, the protrusion 3 is formed as a hollow cylindrical body as a welded portion, and a ring-shaped or intermittently annularly arranged welding rib 4 is provided on the top surface of the protrusion, and the protrusion 3 is fitted into the hollow cylindrical body. The convex portion 11, for example, a cylindrical body or a columnar body is projectingly provided on the inner surface of the other case to provide a positioning function. However, this fitting structure is provided with a temporary fixing function as necessary to achieve a welding process. It may be used to improve accuracy and workability.

[Effect of the device]

The present invention is a cartridge in which a synthetic resin case for accommodating a tape-shaped medium is composed of an upper case and a lower case, and the upper and lower cases are integrally connected by a welding portion. In this case, the welding surface of the case contacts the ultrasonic welding horn. Since it is located 1/8 to 1/4 of the total thickness of the case from the surface, there is no protrusion of the outside of the case after the case is welded, and the appearance is not impaired. Energy loss can be reduced, proper joining work can be performed, welding performance can be improved, and vibration energy required for welding can also be reduced, resulting in high quality and outstanding assembly and reliability. There are practical effects such as improvement of product value and product value.

In the conventional video cassette, as shown in FIG. 6, the case for storing the media has welding projections c projecting from the upper case a and the lower case b, respectively, and the welding surfaces of the welding projections c and c or the case. Since the welding rib d is provided on the mating surface of the outer peripheral wall and is integrated by the welding horn e, even if the welding horn e is applied from the outside of the case, the welding portion is near the center of the case, that is, the parting surface, The weldability is poor at a position far away from the horn contact surface, particularly 10 to 14 mm in the case of a video cassette. Especially, in the case of a design in which welding is performed on the outer peripheral wall, protrusion after welding occurs, which is not preferable in appearance. In addition, since the polypropylene resin is a crystalline resin that requires strong energy to melt even at the welding protrusions, it may be welded at a place other than the welding protrusions. It is then melted surface of the case at the interface over emissions poor appearance, was achieved also a problem in even commercial value and reduced reliability. The present invention is intended to eliminate these conventional drawbacks, has a good case appearance, can reduce the loss of welding energy and reduce the vibration energy required for welding, and improves the weldability even with a crystalline resin. The purpose of the tape cassette is to provide a safe and highly reliable tape cassette that can be manufactured, has a high bonding strength, and has a simple structure and is inexpensive.
