Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform smooth registering (removal of skew) against a sheet material and conveyance by means of a pair of rollers brought into pressure contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:A high friction member 15b is peripherally located to a small diameter part 15d of a first roller 15, and large diameter parts 15c protruded in a flange-form manner and formed of a low friction material are formed on both sides of the small diameter part 15d. The side, positioned facing a second roller 14, of the large diameter part 15c is formed in a tapere T, and the outer peripheral surface of a second roller 14 is formed in a gently curved shape. An edge part 14b of the second roller 14 is positioned outside a pressure contact part A between the second roller 14 and the high friction material 15b. The sheet material P is brought into slide contact with the large diameter part 15c and smoothly guided to a nip part. The sheet material P nipped at the pressure contact part A is gently curved and no edge mark is produced. Thereafter, an enough conveyance force is exerted on the sheet material P through friction with the high friction part 15b.

By the way, in order to give a sufficient conveying force to the sheet material P, it is necessary for the first roller 15 to have a high friction material 15b, while the front end portion P1 of the sheet material P is in a stopped state. When entering the nip portion N of the rollers 14 and 15, the tip portion P1 is caught on the high-friction material 15b and is not smoothly guided to the nip portion N, so that the desired skew feeding correction is not performed. It also caused the paper jam of the sheet material P.

In order to solve these problems, as shown in FIG. 4, it is conceivable that flange-shaped large diameter portions 15c are formed on both sides of the high friction material 15b in the thickness direction (axis 15a direction). Each large-diameter portion 15c has a larger outer diameter than the small-diameter portion 15d around which the high-friction material 15b is provided, and has a smaller friction coefficient with the sheet material P. A cylindrical second roller 14 is pressed against the center of the high friction material 15b in the width direction. As a result, the leading end portion P1 of the conveyed sheet material P slides on the outer peripheral surface of the large-diameter portion 15d, is guided to the nip portion N, and enters the pressure contact portion A. Due to the rotation of the first roller 15, a sufficient conveying force is applied through the high friction material 15b.

However, according to the prior art, when the sheet material P is sandwiched between the first roller 15 and the second roller 14, the large diameter portion 15c and the small diameter portion 1 are formed.
Although the sheet material P is bent due to the step difference with 5d, the second roller 14 is formed in a columnar shape so that the sheet material P hardly enters the nip portion, and as shown in FIG.
Edges 15e and 14b stand at contact portions between the sheet material P and the first roller 15 and the second roller 14, and edge marks are formed on the sheet material P. Further, the width of the high friction material 15b is second
Since the roller 14 is wider than the roller 14, the high friction material 15b is curved by the resist pressure of the second roller 14,
The sheet material P sandwiched by 15 may be similarly curved.

Therefore, according to the present invention, the sheet material sandwiched between the first roller and the second roller is smoothly curved without being extremely bent at the edge portion of the second roller or the large diameter portion. It is an object of the present invention to provide a sheet material conveying device that prevents edge marks from remaining on the sheet material and that allows the sheet material to be smoothly inserted into the nip portion.

5) and the second roller (14), the sheet material (P)
In the sheet material conveying device that nips and conveys the sheet, the first roller (15) is provided between the high friction material (15b) provided around the small diameter portion (15d) and the second roller (14). While having a press contact portion (A) for sandwiching the sheet material (P), a large diameter portion (15c) made of a low friction material protruding in a flange shape is formed on both sides of the small diameter portion (15d), and The edge portion (14b) of the second roller (14) is located outside the pressure contact portion (A).

Based on the above construction, the sheet material (P) is slidably in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the large diameter portion (15c) of the first roller (15) while the second roller (14) and the first roller (15) are in contact with each other. The small diameter portion (15d) is guided to the nip portion with the high friction material (15b). At this time, the large diameter portion (15c) is formed of the low friction material, and the outer circumference of the second roller (14) is smooth. Sheet material (P) based on its curved surface
Can smoothly enter the nip portion.

Subsequently, the sheet material (P) is sandwiched by the pressure contact portion (A) between the second roller (14) and the high friction material (15b). At this time, the second roller (1
The edge portion (14b) of 4) is located outside the press contact portion (A), the outer circumference of the second roller (14) is formed into a curved surface, and the large diameter portion (15c) of the first roller (15) is further formed. Second
Since the side facing the roller (14) is formed in a tapered shape or a smooth curved surface, an edge mark may be formed on the sheet material P by the second roller (14) and the large diameter portion (15c). In addition, the sheet material (P) is not bent extremely.

Next, the flow of the sheet material P will be described. When the sheet material P is placed on the stacking tray 1 with the leading end thereof being abutted against the stopper 5, it is detected by the document detection sensor 6 and the sheet can be fed. Here, when a start signal is sent by turning on the key of the operator, first, the recycle lever 3
3 is driven and is placed on the uppermost surface of the sheet material P. Half moon roller 3
The sheet material P that has been subjected to the edge separation and has become easy to be separated enters the separation portion when the shutter 5 is lowered, is separated by the feed roller 8 and the separation belt 11, and only the lowest one sheet is sent downstream. The second roller 14 and the first roller 15 are stationary, and even after the leading edge of the sheet material P has abutted against the nip portion thereof, the separation portion continues to rotate to some extent and forms a loop in the space above the separation sensor 12 to form a slant. Make a trip. Next, the first roller 15 starts to drive, and the sheet material P moves to the platen 17.
Sent on. The entire surface of the platen 17 is conveyed by the belt 20, and the detection of the rear end of the registration sensor 16 causes the platen 17 to stand still and form an image. After that, the full-face belt 20 is rotated in the reverse direction, rotated around the first roller 15 again, and is reloaded on the tray 1 by the discharge roller 32. In the case of the double-sided sheet material P, the flapper 28 moves to the position shown by the broken line in the figure, rotates around the first roller 15 and again returns to the platen 17.
The action sent above is performed.

A small diameter portion 15d is formed at the center of the first roller 15 in the direction of the shaft 15a, and a small width high friction material 15b is provided around the center of the small diameter portion 15d. The high-friction material 15b has a large friction coefficient with the sheet material P, for example, a rubber member may be used, while the large-diameter portions 15c projecting like flanges on both sides of the small-diameter portion 15d are different from the sheet material P. It is assumed that they are formed by members having a small friction coefficient between them. A taper T is formed on a portion of the large diameter portion 15c that faces the second roller 14. The portion where the taper T is formed may have a smooth curved surface. The surface of the high friction material 15b is recessed more than the surface of the flange-shaped large diameter portion 15c.

The axis of rotation is a shaft 14a parallel to the shaft 15a, and the outer peripheral surface thereof is formed into a gentle curved surface having a convex cross section. This outer peripheral surface is pressed against the high-friction material 15b of the first roller 15 at the central portion to form a pressed contact portion A having an appropriate width in the axial direction.

Along the flow of the above-mentioned sheet material P, the separated lowest one sheet material P is the second stationary sheet material P.
It enters the nip portion between the roller 14 and the first roller 15 and abuts on the pressure contact portion A. At that time, the sheet material P is pushed by the rotation of the separation portion while being abutted against the pressure contact portion A to form a predetermined loop and perform skew feeding.
