[Industrial Field of Application] The present invention relates to a polyphenylene ether resin composition with improved impact strength. More specifically, the present invention relates to a polyphenylene ether resin composition containing an A-B-A type elastomeric block copolymer and an acrylic acid ester graft copolymer and having improved impact strength. [Prior art] Polyphenylene ether resin is patented in the United States

Specification No. 3257357, Specification No. 3257358, Specification No. 3257357, Specification No. 3257358,
It is a known resin disclosed in various known documents such as No. 4011200 and JP-A-50-126800. Although polyphenylene ether resin has excellent heat resistance, it requires extrusion and molding at high temperatures. Extrusion and molding at high temperatures lead to deterioration of the polyphenylene ether resin, and as a result, the excellent performance inherent to the polyphenylene ether resin is impaired.
In addition, the impact strength of polyphenylene ether resin is low and is insufficient for use as is. As a method to simultaneously improve these drawbacks of polyphenylene ether resin, a US patent has been published.
No. 3,383,435 discloses a resin composition containing polyphenylene ether and a vinyl aromatic resin. By blending vinyl aromatic resin and polyphenylene ether, it is possible to lower the temperatures required for extrusion and molding. Further, if a rubber-modified polystyrene resin is used as the vinyl aromatic resin, the impact strength of the resin composition is also improved. However, the improvement in impact strength is still insufficient. Various resin compositions have been proposed as means for improving impact strength. For example, US patent

A resin composition containing polystyrene and an A-B-A' type block copolymer, Patent No. 4128602 describes a resin composition containing polyphenylene oxide, polystyrene and rubber, in which the maximum number of rubber particles dispersed in the resin composition is maximum mean diameter
4128603 contains polyphenylene oxide and high-impact polystyrene, and the high-impact polystyrene is 2μ to 2μ.

Publication No. 8139 discloses resin compositions containing polyphenylene ether, polystyrene, and acrylic resin-modified ABS. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] The present invention provides a polyphenylene ether resin with improved impact resistance that contains a different component from those conventionally used to impart impact resistance. As a result of intensive studies to find a composition, the present invention was arrived at. [Means for solving the problems] The present invention provides (a) polyphenylene ether resin and

A polyphenylene ether resin composition obtained by blending an A' type elastomeric block copolymer and (d) an acrylic acid ester graft copolymer, in which component (c) and (d) By combining these components, a remarkable improvement can be seen especially in impact resistance strength. (a) Polyphenylene ether resin used in the resin composition of the present invention refers to polyphenylene ether obtained by polycondensing one or more monocyclic phenols represented by the general formula ();

As can be seen from the results of Examples and Comparative Examples, in the polyphenylene ether resin composition of the present invention, an A-B-A' type elastomeric block copolymer and an acrylic acid ester graft copolymer are used in combination. By doing so, a synergistic effect appears in improving the Izotsu impact strength. That is, when using a new acrylic ester graft copolymer as a material for improving the impact resistance of polyphenylene ether resin, an A-B-A' type elastomeric block copolymer should be used together. By doing so, more excellent improvement effects can be achieved.
