Abstract

PURPOSE:To record and reproduce information in real time by comparing data receded on a magnetic tape with the data reproduced from the same position with the recoded data and writing an error detective signal on the part having a difference. CONSTITUTION:A data file stored on a memory 13 is sent to a recording signal processing circuit 10 through a data controller 12, after the data is converted to a signal form suitable for recording, the data is amplified by a recording amplifier 8 and recorded on the magnetic tape T by a magnetic head 7. By an error deciding circuit 14, both received signals are compared, when an error is detected, the error detective signal 15 is outputted, after the signal is amplified by the recording amplifier 4, the signal is recorded on an optional track OT by a recording fixed head 3. While the error detective signal 15 is reproduced, by a system controller 11, the operation of a reproduction process circuit 9 and a reproducing amplifier 6 are interrupted and the reproduction is interrupted temporarily, when the error detective signal 15 is disappeared, the reproducing operation is restarted.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in a magnetic recording / reproducing apparatus utilizing DAT, various means have been considered as means for avoiding errors during recording and reproducing. Among them, there are a read-after-write method and a verify function in order to avoid a writing error during recording, that is, an error. That is, when the magnetic tape is damaged, it can be recovered by the error correction code at the time of reproducing the information, and at the time of recording, in order to avoid such a defective portion of the recording medium, it is checked whether or not the data is correctly recorded for each file. Generally, a verify function for performing reproduction and checking and a read-after-write method for checking for each track are performed.

Since the conventional example is constructed as described above, the read-after-write method can monitor the recording signal in almost real time, but when the damaged portion of the tape is large, the number of damaged tracks is increased. Since the rewriting is performed for a long time, there is a drawback that the transfer rate of the entire system is temporarily reduced, and the method using the verify function has a problem that the recording signal cannot be monitored in real time.

Next, at the time of reproduction, the signal reproduced by the reproducing head 5 is amplified by the reproducing amplifier 6 and then returned to the original format signal by the reproducing signal processing circuit 9 and stored in the memory 13 via the data controller 12. And saved. Here, in the case of the read-after-write method, the data controller 12 sends recording data to the recording signal processing circuit 10 and simultaneously transmits it to the error determination circuit 14 at the time of recording. Further, at the time of reproduction, the data from the reproduction signal processing circuit 9 is transmitted to the data controller 12 and at the same time,
It is also transmitted to the error determination circuit 14. Next, the error determination circuit 14 compares the received signals and, when it detects that there is an error, outputs an abnormality detection signal 15, which is amplified by the recording amplifier 4 and then is fixed by the recording fixed head 3 to the magnetic tape of FIG. recorded in the optional track O T positioned outside the tape T shown in recording schematic structure of.

In FIG. 2, the X mark of the main track M T indicates the track in which an error has occurred, and the Δ mark part of the optional track O T is the abnormality detection signal 15 written in the above sequence. Then, at the time of the next recording, since the fixed reproducing head 1 is arranged prior to the rotary recording head 7 as shown in FIG. 3, the fixed head 1 reproduces the abnormality detection signal 15 written on the tape T. , When detected, the system controller 11 reads the signal 15 and the recording signal processing circuit 1 is operating during reproduction of the abnormality detection signal 15.
0 and the recording amplifier 8 are brought into a recording interruption state. Then, when the abnormality detection signal 15 is no longer reproduced, the recording signal processing is restarted.

In this way, when the written data is reproduced, the system controller 11 receives the reproduction signal of the reproduction fixed head 1 in the same manner, and the system controller 11 reproduces the reproduction signal processing circuit 9 and the reproduction amplifier 6 during the reproduction of the abnormality detection signal 15. The operation of is set to the reproduction interruption state, the reproduction is temporarily stopped, and the abnormality detection signal 15
The system controller 11 controls so that the reproduction operation is restarted when there is no more. In this way, information is recorded and reproduced appropriately and efficiently in real time, excluding the damaged area of the magnetic tape.

As described above, according to the present invention, the data recorded on the magnetic tape is compared with the data reproduced from the same portion of the recorded data, and an abnormal portion is detected. The detection signal is written, and the abnormality detection signal is read before recording and reproducing information so that recording and reproduction can be performed by avoiding the abnormality detection signal detection part, thus simplifying the read-after-write sequence. Information can be efficiently recorded and reproduced in real time. As a result, it is possible to obtain a magnetic recording / reproducing apparatus which is extremely quick in responding to damage to the magnetic tape and has excellent performance.
