[Industrial Field of Application] The present invention relates to a polyphenylene ether resin composition with improved weather resistance. More specifically, the present invention relates to a polyphenylene ether resin composition with improved weather resistance, which is blended with zinc oxide and a specific nickel complex. [Prior art] Polyphenylene ether resin is patented in the United States.
It is a known resin disclosed in various known documents such as 3306874 specification, 3306875 specification, 3257357 specification, 3257358 specification, 4011200 specification, and JP-A-50-126800. Polyphenylene ether resin is a resin with excellent heat resistance and electrical properties. However, for this reason, extrusion and molding at high temperatures are necessary when using polyphenylene ether resins. Extrusion and molding at high temperatures lead to deterioration of the polyphenylene ether resin, and as a result, the excellent performance inherent to the polyphenylene ether resin is impaired. Furthermore, the weather resistance of polyphenylene ether resins is insufficient, and when used outdoors as is, the performance deteriorates significantly.
Recently, plastics have come to be used in automobiles, but the insufficient weather resistance of polyphenylene ether resins hinders their use in this type of field. It is. By the way, as a method for improving the moldability of polyphenylene ether resin, US Pat. No. 3,383,435 discloses a resin composition in which a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon resin is blended with a polyphenylene ether resin. By blending the two, it is possible to lower the temperature required for extrusion and molding, but since the weather resistance of the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon resin itself is insufficient, even if moldability is improved, The weather resistance of polyphenylene ether resin is not improved. Several methods for improving the weather resistance of polyphenylene ether resin compositions have already been proposed, including methods of adding various ultraviolet absorbers or light stabilizers. For example, patent publication Sho 56-501881
According to the publication, piperidine alone or a piperidine derivative and a phosphite having a specific structural formula,
A polyphenylene ether resin composition formulated in combination with hydroxybenzotriazole or sterically hindered phenol was disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 55-135159.
According to the publication, a stabilizer for a polyphenylene ether graft copolymer resin is prepared by combining an organic phosphite compound and a hydroxybenzotriazole or a hydroxybenzophenone.
JP-A-50-100153 discloses polyphenylene ether resin compositions containing oxybenzotriazoles or oxybenzophenones and certain organic nickel complexes. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] An object of the present invention is to provide a polyphenylene ether resin composition with improved weather resistance by combining a new compound different from the previously proposed weather resistance imparting agents as described above. It's about getting. [Means for Solving the Problem] As a result of intensive studies to achieve the above object, the present inventors found that zinc oxide and 2,2'-thio-bis(p-alkylphenol) were combined into a nickel complex and a nickel amine complex. It has been discovered that by using at least one kind of nickel-based complex selected from the group consisting of the following, the weather resistance of the polyphenylene ether-based resin composition can be greatly improved based on the synergistic effect of both. That is, in the present invention, (c) zinc oxide and (d) 2,2'-thio-bis( This is a polyphenylene ether resin composition with improved weather resistance, which contains at least one kind of nickel complex selected from the group consisting of a nickel complex of p-alkylphenol and a nickel amine complex. (a) Polyphenylene ether resin used in the resin composition of the present invention is a monocyclic phenol represented by the general formula ().

A resin containing 25% by weight or more, such as polystyrene, rubber-modified polystyrene (impact-resistant polystyrene), poly-p-methylstyrene, rubber-modified poly-p-methylstyrene, styrene-butadiene copolymer, styrene-butadiene-acrylonitrile. Copolymer, styrene-acrylic acid rubber-acrylonitrile copolymer, styrene-α
Examples include -methylstyrene copolymer, styrene-butadiene block copolymer, etc., and two or more of these may be used as a mixture. In the resin composition of the present invention, the weight ratio of the polyphenylene ether resin and the vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon resin is generally 95/5 to 95, preferably
They are used in a mixed ratio ranging from 85/15 to 15/85. If the upper limit is exceeded, the moldability of the polyphenylene ether resin will not be significantly improved, and if the lower limit is exceeded, the characteristics of the polyphenylene ether resin will not appear. The zinc oxide (c) used in the resin composition of the present invention may be any zinc oxide that is normally commercially available as a white pigment for resin addition. Zinc oxide is different from other white pigments;
Since it absorbs ultraviolet rays with a wavelength of 366 mm or less, it may contribute to improving the weather resistance of resins even when used alone. However, this level is significantly inferior to that achieved in combination with a specific nickel-based complex in the resin composition of the present invention. The average particle size of commercially available zinc oxide varies, but for the purpose of the present invention, a particle size of around 0.25 μm is particularly preferable. The amount of zinc oxide added is generally 1 to 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the resin component consisting of components (a) and (b).
It is selected in parts by weight, preferably in the range of 2 to 10 parts by weight. If the amount is less than the lower limit, the effect of zinc oxide on improving the weather resistance will not be recognized, and if the upper limit is exceeded, the degree of improvement in weather resistance will reach a saturated state and not only will no further improvement effect be observed, but the resin composition The original performance of the product is lost. In the resin composition of the present invention, the nickel complex (d) used in combination with zinc oxide is 2,2'-thio-bis(p-
nickel complex of alkylphenol)
