[Technical Field] The present invention relates to improvements in heat-sensitive recording materials containing leuco dyes as color formers. [Prior Art] Thermosensitive recording materials generally have a thermosensitive coloring layer containing a thermochromic composition as a main component on a support such as paper, synthetic paper, or plastic film.
Colored images can be obtained by heating with a thermal pen, laser light, etc. Compared to other recording materials, this type of recording material does not require complicated processing such as development and fixing, can produce records in a short time using relatively simple equipment, and generates less noise and pollutes the environment. ,
Due to its low cost and other advantages, it is used not only for copying books and documents, but also as a recording material in a wide range of applications such as electronic computers, facsimile machines, ticket vending machines, labels, and recorders. Thermochromic compositions used in such heat-sensitive recording materials generally consist of a coloring agent and a color developer that causes the coloring agent to develop color when heated. Examples of the coloring agent include:
Colorless or light-colored leuco dyes having a lactone, lactam or spiropyran ring are used, and various acidic substances such as organic acids and phenolic substances are used as color developers. A recording material that combines a color forming agent and a color developer has the advantage that the resulting image has a particularly clear color tone, has a high background whiteness, and has excellent weather resistance of the image (dye image). and is widely used. In recent years, heat-sensitive recording materials have replaced other conventional recording methods, and as demand has increased, demands for improving the quality of the heat-sensitive recording materials used in this heat-sensitive recording method have also increased. Increasing the speed of recording is becoming a major challenge for thermal recording. Various methods have been proposed to increase the speed of ring thermal recording materials, but there is a method to increase the speed by using a thermofusible substance in combination to improve the thermal sensitivity. Fusible substances have been proposed. In this case, it is thought that the thermofusible substance must not only melt at a low melting point but also have physical properties such as melt viscosity and compatibility with color developers and dyes in a short period of time. Furthermore, the thermofusible substance may affect the stability of recorded images, and it is necessary that stable images be maintained for a long period of time. Further, even if the same thermofusible substance is used, the sensitizing effect may differ depending on the type of color developer used in combination. Therefore, it is desired that the thermofusible substance has a good sensitizing effect on a wide variety of color developers. [Objective] An object of the present invention is to provide a heat-sensitive recording material containing a novel thermofusible substance that has a good sensitizing effect that increases the sensitivity of the heat-sensitive recording material. [Structure] According to the present invention, there is provided a heat-sensitive recording material characterized in that a heat-sensitive color forming layer containing a leuco dye and a color developer contains at least one compound represented by the following general formula ().
