[Technical Field] The present invention relates to a method for producing diisopropylnaphthalene from naphthalene. [Prior Art] In addition to being used as a dye solvent, diisopropylated naphthalene is also used as a raw material for the reaction of 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid. In order to obtain such diisopropylnaphthalene in high yield, a method is known in which naphthalene is isopropylated with excess propylene and then the isopropylated product is transalkylated (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 17452/1982). . In this method, the transalkylation treatment after isopropylation causes a transalkylation reaction between monoisopropylated naphthalene and triisopropylnaphthalene, improving the yield of diisopropylnaphthalene. however,
According to the research conducted by the present inventors, in the case of this method, a considerable amount of compounds having structural units other than the isopropyl group and the naphthalene nucleus, such as alkylnaphthalenes other than isopropylnaphthalene and isopropyltetralin, are present as by-products in the obtained product. It turned out that it was included. [Objective] An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing diisopropylnaphthalene in which these by-products are suppressed. [Structure] According to the present invention, there is an isopropylation step in which naphthalene is isopropylated with propylene, a transalkylation step in which the isopropylated product is transalkylated, and the transalkylated product is converted into a diisopropylnaphthalene fraction and a diisopropylene fraction. a step of separating into a fraction having a boiling point lower than the boiling point of naphthalene and a fraction having a boiling point higher than the boiling point of diisopropylnaphthalene, the molar ratio of the isopropyl group to the naphthalene nucleus of the isopropylated product being 0.5 or more. A method for producing diisopropylnaphthalene, which comprises maintaining the boiling point within a range of less than 1.3 and recycling at least a part of a fraction having a boiling point lower than the boiling point of diisopropylnaphthalene separated in the separation step to a nuclear isopropylation step. provided. In the present invention, the ratio of the isopropyl group to the naphthalene nucleus in the isopropylation product obtained in the naphthalene isopropylation step is determined in terms of molar ratio.
It is defined in the range of 0.5 or more and less than 1.3, preferably in the range of 0.6 to 1.0. According to the research of the present inventors, when transalkylating an isopropylated product, if a large amount of polyisopropylnaphthalene having three or more isopropyl groups (hereinafter also simply referred to as polyisopropylnaphthalene) is present, It has been found that alkylnaphthalene and isopropyltetralin (hereinafter simply referred to as by-products) are significantly produced as by-products. Therefore, in the present invention, in order to reduce the supply ratio of polyisopropylnaphthalene to the transalkylation step, the degree of isopropylation in the isopropylation step is limited, and the relationship between the isopropyl group and the naphthalene nucleus in the isopropylation product is reduced. The molar ratio is defined within the above range. Due to this provision, the content of polyisopropylnaphthalene in the isopropylation product is low, and as a result, the amount of polyisopropylnaphthalene from the separation process is extremely small and can be simply extracted from the system as a by-product, or Recycling this to the transalkylation step also avoids significant formation of said by-products. Next, each step of the present invention will be explained in detail. [Naphthalene isopropylation treatment step] This step involves reacting naphthalene and a mixture mainly composed of naphthalene and isopropylnaphthalene as a fraction having a boiling point lower than the boiling point of recycled diisopropylnaphthalene with propylene in the presence of a catalyst. This is the process of obtaining an isopropylated product. Naphthalene, which is a raw material for isopropylation, may be of any type produced from petroleum oil, coal oil, or the like. However, if the isopropylation catalyst contains components that may poison the catalyst, such as sulfur compounds or nitrogen compounds, these can be removed using well-known refining techniques, hydrorefining, activated clay treatment, etc. It is preferable to remove these compounds. The isopropylation reaction is
This reaction is well known in the art and can be carried out as a liquid phase or gas phase reaction according to conventional methods.
As a catalyst, silica/alumina, crystalline aluminosilicate, nickel oxide/silica, silver oxide/
Solid acid catalysts such as silica-alumina, silica-magnesia, alumina-boria, and solid phosphoric acid, and Friedel-Crafts catalysts such as aluminum chloride, hydrogen fluoride, and phosphoric acid are used. In this isopropylation reaction, the isopropyl group attached to the naphthalene ring is easily rearranged to another naphthalene ring by the transalkylation reaction in the presence of the catalyst as described above. Therefore, this isopropylation reaction is considered to be a reversible reaction, and an equilibrium composition exists between naphthalene and isopropylnaphthalenes. The amount of diisopropylnaphthalene produced depends on the ratio of naphthalene to propylene in the reaction, temperature, type and amount of catalyst, etc. When performing an isopropylation reaction using a Friedel-Crafts catalyst, the reaction is carried out at a temperature of room temperature to 150°C, preferably 50 to 100°C, a pressure of normal pressure to 10 atmospheres,
Catalyst to feed ratio 0.001-0.3, preferably
It is carried out under the conditions of 0.02-0.2. When using a solid acid catalyst, the reaction temperature is 150-500℃, the pressure is 0-50Kg/
cm 2 G, contact time ranges from 0.02 to 6.0 hr, preferably temperature 200
~350℃, pressure 0~35Kg/ cm2G , contact time 0.4~
The range is 2.5hr. If the temperature is high or the contact time is long, a decomposition reaction occurs and by-products are produced. Furthermore, when the temperature is low or the contact time is short, the yield of diisopropylnaphthalene decreases. In this isopropylation reaction step, an isopropylation product containing unreacted naphthalene, monoisopropylnaphthalene, diisopropylnaphthalene, and triisopropylnaphthalene is obtained. In addition, when carrying out this isopropylation reaction step, at least a part of the low boiling point fraction consisting of naphthalene and monoisopropylnaphthalene obtained in the subsequent distillation separation step of the transalkylation product is recycled to this isopropylation reaction step. You can also. When conducting an isopropylation reaction by circulating such a fraction, an isopropylation reaction occurs by the reaction of unreacted naphthalene and monoisopropylnaphthalene constituting the recycled low-boiling fraction with propylene, resulting in diisopropyl Naphthalene is produced. In the present invention, the molar ratio of the isopropyl group to the naphthalene nucleus in the isopropylation product obtained in this isopropylation treatment step is set to 0.5 or more and less than 1.3,
Preferably it is defined in the range of 0.6 to 1.0. This molar ratio can be adjusted by adjusting the reaction time, the rate of introduction of propylene into the isopropyl treatment step, etc. This regulation significantly suppresses the proportion of polyisopropylnaphthalene having three or more isopropyl groups in the isopropylated product. If the molar ratio is 1.3 or more, the proportion of the polyisopropylnaphthalene as a by-product increases, which is not preferable. Moreover, when the molar ratio is less than 0.5,
The proportion of diisopropylnaphthalene produced is significantly reduced. [Transalkylation treatment step] This transalkylation treatment step is a step in which the isopropylated product obtained above is brought into contact with a transalkylation catalyst and the isopropyl group bonded to a naphthalene nucleus is transferred to another naphthalene nucleus. It is. For example, the reaction between naphthalene or monoisopropylnaphthalene and triisopropylnaphthalene produces diisopropylnaphthalene. Further, in this transalkylation treatment, in addition to the transalkylation reaction, an isomerization reaction of diisopropylnaphthalene also occurs, and the ratio of isomers in diisopropylnaphthalene is maintained at approximately an equilibrium composition. The catalyst and reaction conditions used in this transalkylation treatment step are the same as those shown in the isopropylation treatment step, but the reaction conditions are generally better than the isopropylation treatment conditions. Severe and elevated reaction temperatures are preferably employed. It is also preferable that the amount of catalyst is greater than that in the isopropylation reaction treatment step. This transalkylation treatment can be carried out in the same reactor as the isopropylation treatment or in a separate reactor. The reaction time is 5 to 300 minutes, preferably 15 to 120 minutes. [Separation step of transalkylation product] The product obtained in the transalkylation step is subjected to distillation treatment to separate a diisopropylnaphthalene fraction, a low boiling point fraction having a lower boiling point, and It is separated into a high-boiling fraction with a higher boiling point. The low boiling point fraction can be further separated into a naphthalene fraction and a monoisopropylnaphthalene fraction. In the present invention, at least a portion of the low boiling point fraction is recycled to the isopropylation process. Preferably, among the low-boiling fractions, the naphthalene fraction is recycled to the isopropylation treatment step, and the monoisopropylnaphthalene fraction is recycled to the transalkylation treatment step. The high-boiling fraction containing triisopropylnaphthalene may be recycled to the transalkylation process, but in the case of the present invention, since the amount is small, it is not recycled and used for other purposes. It is better. From this separation step, diisopropylnaphthalene is separated and recovered. This diisopropylnaphthalene fraction is a 1,6-diisopropylnaphthalene fraction.

This diisopropylnaphthalene fraction can be further separated by crystallization separation method, chromatography separation method, simulated moving bed separation method, etc. to separate and recover each isomer, especially 2,6-isomer. can. [Effect] According to the present invention, diisopropylnaphthalene can be obtained in good yield from naphthalene and propylene by suppressing the production of by-products such as alkylnaphthalenes other than isopropylnaphthalene and isopropyltetralin. [Example] Next, the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to Examples. Example 1 0.6 mol of naphthalene and isopropylnaphthalene
Using a 0.4 mol mixture as a raw material, propylene was blown into 1 mol of naphthalene nuclei for various times at a flow rate of 0.017 mol/min at a reaction temperature of 85°C and normal pressure in the presence of 0.11 mol of an aluminum chloride catalyst to react. Ta. Next, the obtained isopropylated product was reacted at a reaction temperature of 85°C under normal pressure in the presence of 0.11 mol of aluminum chloride catalyst per 1 mol of naphthalene nuclei for 60 min.
The mixture was held for a minute to carry out transalkylation treatment.
The reaction results thus obtained are shown in the following table. Note that the symbols shown in the table have the following meanings. ことができる。[Table] In the results shown in Table 1, by comparing the results with different degrees of alkylation (IP/NP),
In particular, by keeping the degree of alkylation between 0.5 and less than 1.3 by comparing the amount of diisopropylnaphthalene produced and the amount of by-products and PIPNP high-boiling products, in other words, naphthalene and monoisopropylnaphthalene are It can be seen that the yield of diisopropylnaphthalene is improved by adding isopropylation followed by transalkylation. Also, in this case,
By adjusting the degree of alkylation, by-products (IPENP, IPTL) and high-boiling fractions (PIPNP)
It can be seen that the amount of production can be suppressed. Furthermore, in the total feed fed to the transalkylation process,
By specifically regulating the IP/NP molar ratio within the range of 0.6 to 1.0, the amount of by-products produced can be significantly suppressed.
