Abstract

PURPOSE:To lessen bouncing of an electric contact. CONSTITUTION:A resilient conductive plate 4 is supported by a support 5 made of an insulative material while the base end 4a is consolidated in a single piece with the armature 3. A controlling member 6 made of insulative material is fixed with its center to the armature 3 in such an arrangement that control pieces 6b extending from the center 6a to both sides substantially contact the rear surface of the foremost part 4c of a conductive plate 4 fitted with a movable contact 4d. When this contact 4d collides with a stationary contact 4e, the control pieces 6b restrain the movable contact 4d from hopping off from the stationary contact 4e resulting in less bouncing of the contact.

Next, the operation will be described. When the coil 2 is excited, the armature 3 is rotatably supported at the center by a supporting member, and the armature 3 is attracted to the iron core 1 by performing a seesaw motion and is provided on one end 4c of one of the two conductive plates 4. The movable contact 4d contacts the fixed contact 4e. Due to the impact at the time of contact, the movable contact 4d jumps from the fixed contact 4e and tries to cause so-called contact bounce, but the conductive plate 4 provided with the movable contact 4d.
Since the restricting piece 6b of the restricting member 6 is substantially in contact with the back surface of the tip end portion 4c, the movable contact 4d is restricted by the restricting piece 6b and the movable contact 4d is unlikely to jump. Then, after the movable contact 4d comes into contact with the fixed contact 4e, the armature 3 further moves until it is attracted to the iron core 1, so that the conductive plate 4 bends to have a contact pressure. Therefore, the restriction piece of the restriction member 6
The state where 6b is almost in contact with the tip 4c of the conductive plate 4
It is set within the range where 4 bends and a certain contact pressure can be secured. If the seesaw motion of armature 3 is reversed,
The two conductive plates 4 are movable contacts 4d provided on the other end 4c.
Contacts the fixed contact 4e and operates in the same manner as above.

In this embodiment, the regulating member 6 is an armature.
It is fixedly attached to the tips of both ends 3b and 3c of 3 and is integrally provided, but the movable contact 4d is also provided along the conductive plate 4 from the support 5 which is also integrally provided at the center of the armature 3. Alternatively, the restriction member 6 may be formed by extending the restriction piece 6b that is substantially in contact with the back surface of the tip 4c of the conductive plate 4.

In the electromagnetic relay of the present invention, since the regulating member made of an insulating material which is substantially in contact with the back surface of the tip of the conductive plate provided with the movable contact is integrally provided on the armature, the movable contact serves as the fixed contact. When the contact abuts and collides, the movable contact jumps from the fixed contact, and it is difficult for the movable contact to jump because it is restricted by the restricting member, that is, contact bounce can be reduced, and thus noise is less likely to occur in signal transmission. This facilitates high-speed signal switching, reduces contact damage during load switching, and prolongs service life.
