<Conventional technology> In a conventional hot rolling line, the rolled material (slab) is heated to the required rolling temperature in a heating furnace, rolled one by one in a rough rolling mill and a finishing mill, and then rolled into a coil shape in a coiler. Discontinuous rolling (batch rolling)
was going there. Therefore, the work involved adjusting the shape of the tail end of the running sheet bar and the head end of the trailing sheet bar that are supplied to the finishing rolling mill, as well as fitting each sheet bar between the rolls (work rolls) of the finishing rolling mill row. There was a problem that the effective utilization of equipment was reduced and production efficiency was poor.

Therefore, in order to solve this problem, as in the hot rolling line shown in the schematic arrangement diagram in FIG. The tail end of sheet bar 3a and the head end of trailing sheet bar 3b are joined by a joining device 4, rolled by a finishing mill 2, cooled to a required winding temperature by a cooling device 7, and then divided by a shear 8. A continuous rolling method has been proposed in which the material is wound alternately with two coilers 10a and 10b.

With the above configuration, when joining the leading sheet bar 3a and the trailing sheet bar 3b, the threading speed is stopped, and the clamping device (not shown) of the joining device 4 joins both sheet bars 3a and 3b. It was necessary to fix and weld the end portions, and it was not possible to prevent a decrease in production efficiency due to temporary interruption of the rolling operation for each joining operation.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> In order to prevent this, it is possible to make the joining device 4 a traveling type, but in this case, the traveling speed of the traveling joining device and the speed of the leading and trailing sheet bars must be adjusted. Since perfect matching with the conveyance speed cannot be expected, the leading sheet bar 3a and the trailing sheet bar 3
There was a problem in that a gap was formed between the joint edge of b and the joint edge could not be completely joined, and the effect of continuous rolling could not be fully demonstrated.

First, the running welding device is placed on standby at a predetermined position on the intermediate roller table 5, for example, at an appropriate position X0 on the upstream side of the welding device 4 shown in FIG. At this position Also, presser rod 3
Set the lifts No. 1 to their upper limit positions. In this state, the speed control device (not shown) controls the sheet passing speed of the trailing sheet bar 3b so that its head edge comes into contact with, or almost comes into contact with, the tail end edge of the leading sheet bar 3a. Seat bar 3a
Synchronize with the threading speed of In this state, the joining position of the sheet bars 3a, 3b during sheet passing is detected by a position sensor (not shown) installed at least upstream of the standby position X0 , and the traveling drive motor 20 is controlled based on the signal. While running the traveling carts 11, 11' by themselves, synchronizing the threading speed of both sheet bars 3a, 3b, and aligning the welding center X of the welding machine 14 with the joining edges of both sheet bars 3a, 3b. <Effects of the Invention> As described above, according to the present invention, the two running carts, front and rear, arranged in the sheet bar passing direction, are synchronized with the sheet passing speed of the sheet bar that is supplied to the finishing rolling mill. While the vehicle is running on its own, the tail end of the leading seat bar and the head end of the trailing seat bar are individually fixed by clamp devices attached to both traveling vehicles, and both seats are secured by a connecting device. Since the sheet bars are connected to each other in a crimped state so that no gap occurs at the joining edges of the bars, reliable joining can always be achieved and the joining condition can be improved. Therefore, by using the present invention, the original functions of a continuous rolling line can be fully exhibited, which greatly contributes to improving productivity.
