Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a connector with which a predetermined insertion/ pull force can be given in spite of a thin plate thickness, and of which insertion/pull force is not reduced even in usage under a high temperature by welding a thin plate of a rectangular form of a specified alloy with a thin plate belt material, and bending an obtained matter to form an insertion/pull part. CONSTITUTION:A belt material 10 comprising a thin plate belt material 8 comprising a tape 6 of Au or Ag or its alloy cladded with a tape 7 of Cu or Cu alloy, and a thin plate 9 of Fe alloy welded with it at right and left side edges at the front part by an electron beam or laser is cut in a predetermined length. The back parts of the thin plate 9 on the right and left side of the cut belt material 10 are then cut and eliminated, and residual rectangular thin plates 9' at the front part are bent in the form of a U-letter on the upper surface side of the thin plate belt material 8 to form insertion/pull parts 11. For a connector thus composed a predetermined insertion/ pull force can be provided at the insertion/pull parts 11 if the plate thickness is thin when it is used for an automotive connector terminal, stable connection can be achieved, and the insertion/pull force is not deteriorated even in usage under a high temperature, thereby the connection can be stabilized.

2. Description of the Related Art Automotive connector terminals are required to have excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance, a small contact resistance, and a large number of times of insertion / removal. As a conventional automotive connector terminal that meets these requirements, as shown in FIG. 3, Au, Ag or an alloy 2 thereof is formed on the entire surface of a thin strip 1 made of a copper alloy such as brass, phosphor bronze or beryllium copper. As shown in FIG. 4, a connector 4 is used which is plated or inlaid with Au, Ag or an alloy 2 thereof in the central recess 3 of the thin strip 1 as shown in FIG. 4 and processed as shown in FIG. ..

By the way, such a connector 4 has a C
When the thin strip material 1 made of u alloy is cut to a required length and then the left and right sides are bent in a U-shape toward the center of the upper surface to form the insertion / removal portion 5, a required insertion / removal force is applied to the insertion / removal portion 5. In order to achieve this, the plate thickness of the thin strip material 1 must be made thicker than necessary, and since the Cu alloy of the thin strip material 1 has low high-temperature characteristics, the insertion / extraction force decreases and loosens when used at high temperatures. The connection as was unstable.

Therefore, according to the present invention, it is possible to apply a required insertion / extraction force to the insertion / extraction portion even if the plate thickness of the strip is reduced.
Further, the present invention aims to provide a connector whose insertion / removal force does not decrease even when used at high temperatures.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION A connector for solving the above-mentioned problems is formed of a Fe alloy on both front left and right edges of a thin strip material clad with Au, Ag or an alloy thereof and Cu or a Cu alloy. A rectangular thin plate is welded by an electron beam or a laser, and the thin plates on both sides are bent in a U shape on the upper surface side of the thin plate strip to form an insertion / removal portion.

The connector of the present invention constructed as described above,
Since the insertion / extraction part is formed by bending a U-shaped rectangular thin plate of Fe alloy on the upper surface side of the thin strip material, the insertion / extraction part has a strong elastic force and is superior to the conventional insertion / extraction part made of Cu alloy. However, even if the plate thickness is thin, the required insertion / removal force can be obtained as a connector terminal for automobiles and stable connection can be achieved. Further, since the insertion / removal portion is excellent in relaxation of thermal stress, the insertion / removal force does not decrease even if it is used at high temperature, it does not loosen, and the connection is stable. Furthermore, since the current carrying member, which is a thin strip material in which Au, Ag or their alloys and Cu or Cu alloy are clad, is provided at the center of the insertion / removal portion, the current can be conducted without any trouble.

[0008] The connector of the embodiment configured in this way
In the insertion / removal portion 11, the rectangular thin plate 9'of SUS304 is formed by bending it into a U-shape on the upper surface side of the thin strip 8, so that the insertion / removal portion 11 has a strong elastic force and a thin plate thickness. Even though it is thin, it can obtain the required insertion / removal force as a connector terminal for automobiles, and provide a stable connection. Also, since the insertion / removal portion 11 is excellent in thermal stress relaxation due to its material, the insertion / removal force does not decrease even when used at high temperatures, does not loosen, and a stable connection can be made. Further, since the thin plate strip 8 in which the Au tape 6 and the Cu tape 7 are clad is provided in the center of the insertion / removal portion, the current can be conducted without any trouble.
