Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high storage capacity and occasional writing and reading out functions by forming a writable/reloadable magnetic storage medium layer on the rear surface of an optical disk substrate formed with an optical information storage medium layer on one main surface. CONSTITUTION:The rear surface of the substrate 3 of the optical disk reproduced from the original disk of the optical disk corresponding to a ROM is polished to a specular surface state. Further, the vapor deposition of a metal, such as aluminum or platinum, is executed by sputtering thereon to form a metallic layer 4 having nearly the specular surface. A magnetic material is deposited by evaporation on the surface of the layer 4 to form a magnetic material layer 5 and a surface protective layer 6 is formed on the surface of this layer 5. The other surface of the optical disk having the high memory capacity on one surface side is formed as the writable/readable magnetic disk in such a manner. A program which can freely change writing is stored on the magnetic disk side and fixed data is stored on the optical disk side in this way, by which versatility is enhanced.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, there is a floppy disk using a magnetic material of this kind of storage disk. Since this floppy disk can be repeatedly used for writing and reading, its use has been expanded and technology for higher density has been developed. However, there is a limit to the densification by using a magnetic material as a medium, and at present, the densification can be almost achieved.

FIGS. 1 (a) and 1 (b) are a partial fractured surface and a sectional partial view of a storage disk showing an embodiment of the present invention. This storage disk has a magnetic storage medium formed on the back surface of the optical disk. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the back surface of the substrate 3 of the optical disc, which has been corrected from the original plate of the optical disc in which programming information corresponding to the ROM has been converted into bits, is polished to a mirror surface, and metal deposition is performed by sputtering (material: aluminum, platinum, etc.). ) Is performed to obtain a metal layer 4 closer to a mirror surface. This is carried out as a pretreatment for making the thickness of the layer of the magnetic material constituting the layer next uniform.

As described above, by providing an optical disk having a huge storage capacity on one side and forming a writable / readable magnetic disk on the other side, a program capable of freely changing writing to the writable / readable magnetic disk side is provided. If it is stored and fixed data is stored on the optical disk side, it can be used as a storage medium with high versatility and large capacity.
