Recently, countermeasures against noise in digital equipment have become a problem. Therefore, shields are often used in electric wires, cables, connectors, and assemblies thereof used in digital devices and the like. A conventionally widely used shielding method is to wrap the object to be shielded with a shielding tape such as a metal tape.

Typical shielding tapes are metal tapes such as copper and aluminum, or laminate tapes of these metal tapes and films such as polyester. These can be expected to have an excellent shielding effect by wrapping them in a completely sealed state without any gaps, but
When used to shield movable parts, not only is it hard and difficult to move, but repeated use also causes problems such as cracks in the shield tape and tape breakage.

As a flexible shielding tape material to replace such metal tape, a coarse mesh tape in which metal wires are arranged in a net shape and the contact portions of the metal wires are loose and movable has been put into practical use. However, the coarse mesh tape had a large mesh density and had a problem in terms of shielding effect (particularly shielding effect in a high frequency band). Furthermore, when the coarse mesh tape is wound overlappingly in order to increase the shielding effect, the winding thickness of the tape becomes large, and the dimensions of the shield portion become large, which sometimes becomes an obstacle to miniaturization and space saving. Also, if you use the coarse mesh tape by cutting it into a width and size that corresponds to the dimensions of the object to be shielded, the metal wires may fray at the edges and get caught, making it difficult to wrap the tape. It was hot.

FIGS. 1 and 2 show a woven tape that is the base material for the flexible shielding tape of the present invention. That is, a metal foil 2 is horizontally wound on an intervening thread 1 serving as a thread-like inclusion to form a metal foil horizontally wound conductor 3, which is then woven in a net shape. Such a metal foil horizontally wound conductor 3 has much superior flexibility and bendability compared to conventional metal wires (single metal wires or stranded metal wires), and can also be tightly woven into a tape. A tape with excellent flexibility and bending resistance can be obtained.

Although the metal foil horizontally wound conductor 3 is arranged in the form of a net, it may be arranged in the form of a cloth. Furthermore, copper foil is desirable for the metal foil 2 in terms of electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, etc., but tin plating may be used especially to prevent surface oxidation during soldering.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, one piece of metal foil 2 was wound spirally around the intervening thread 1, but two pieces of metal foil 2 were used, one of which was a conductor foil such as copper, and the other The electromagnetic shielding effect may be improved by using the sheet as a magnetic foil such as iron or nickel.

FIG. 3 shows an example of a flexible tape made of a compressed woven tape 6 whose thickness is reduced by passing the woven tape 4 formed as described above through a compression molding roll 5 and compressing and flattening it. It is something.
By compressing and flattening in this way, the increase in the winding thickness can be suppressed to a small value even when overlappingly wound, and by flattening the metal foil horizontally wound conductor 3, the width of the metal foil horizontally wound conductor 3 itself can be reduced. The larger the gap between the woven conductors, the larger the apparent area occupied by the conductors in the tape, which further improves the shielding effect. As described above, the compressed woven tape 6 is notable for its thinner thickness and improved shielding effect.

FIG. 4 shows an embodiment of a flexible shield tape in which an adhesive tape 7 is adhered and laminated on one side of the compressed flat tape 6 formed as described above. By doing this, even if the tape is cut into tapes of the required width, the conductor will not fray at the edges of the tape, and the tape winding operation can be performed extremely easily.

In order to adhere and laminate the adhesive tape 7 on one side of the compressed woven tape 6, the compressed woven tape 6 and the adhesive tape 7, for example, a plastic tape with an adhesive layer on one side, are overlapped and passed between compression forming rolls. It's fine.

As explained above, the flexible shielding tape according to the present invention is a woven tape in which a metal foil horizontally wound conductor in which metal foil is horizontally wound on a filamentous inclusion is arranged in a net shape or a cloth shape. Since the tape is compressed and flattened, it has much better flexibility than conventional metal wire woven tapes, and the compression and flattening of the tape allows it to have a uniform thickness in the thickness direction. It is possible to make the tape thinner, and the area occupied by the conductor in the thinner tape is apparently larger, which improves the shielding effect.Furthermore, it is possible to provide a flexible shielding tape that has a uniform thickness, is thin, and has an improved shielding effect. There is an effect.

Furthermore, according to the second feature of the present invention, the compressed woven tape is adhered and fixed to the thin tape, so that
Conductor fraying at the end of the tape is reduced, tape winding work is facilitated, and conductor fraying is reduced even when cut to an arbitrary width, so that it is possible to provide a flexible shield tape that is easy to use.
