The present invention relates to a disposable diaper having an absorbent body between a liquid-permeable top sheet and a liquid-impermeable back sheet, which is stretchable at both ends along both side edges of the absorbent body. The outer flap is preferably a breathable water-repellent non-woven fabric having a base end portion on both side edge portions of the diaper and a silicon treatment, and the top end portion is bent so as to wrap the stretchable elastic body inside. The stretchable elastic body is fixed with a hot melt adhesive. The outer flap also stands up when worn, but its height is suitably 10 to 100 mm, preferably 20 to 60 mm when worn.
